Very interesting place worth to visit, body parts with description in jars, real human skeletons, you can try advanced technology for operation on human bodies.Parking space is limited only parking on the road which you have to pay 15£ for 3h .One more thing, can't take any pictures or videos inside, because of human remains and to respect them they were alive.

Very interesting place to visit. They have so many specimens on display for you to see. They have a tablet that you can enter the item number into and it will give you a more detailed description of the history and any other information about the specimen. They have a large collection of infant specimens which was quote creepy but interesting at the Same time. Definitely worth stopping for a visit

Unbelievable experience, easily lost 4 hours here. Could have happily spent longer. No photography allowed inside. A fair amount of real body parts and a bit of gore inside be cautious taking children.

Best spent £9 in Edinburgh! Literally one of the best museums I have ever been to. Amazing expositions, so much interesting facts and a lot of stories about how the medicine and surgery was progressing over the centuries and years. You can really learn a lot. I spend there 3h and could easily spend even more. If you really want to get all the knowledge and get amazed by the stories and history you need them 3h at least. Definitely recommend!

Excellent museum and so pleased i visited! Was just able to stomach seeing so many body parts, many having different issues.I spent nearly 2.5 hours there and wished I had a little more time as there is lots to see and read about. The robotics and interactive learning experiences were brilliant.

Interesting museum, especially if you are in the medical field. Various anatomy pieces were displayed with different clinical cause from head to toe, external and internal organs. Bear in mind that picture taking is not allowed inside. PS go to level 4 where there a few interactive activities. I had fun over there. Only 4 stars cause museum shop is so tiny not much of items to choose from, and is literally beside the counter/reception. Overall, very nice experience.

On this year's trip to Scotland, the three best things I did was hike the Quiraing on Skye, watch the Military Tattoo, and visit the Surgeon's Hall museum. I think it's fair to say that this is where modern medicine began. It's a fascinating boutique museum (not gory, but perhaps queasy to some) depicting the history of dissection, early remedies, tools, and even the profiteering of selling cadavers to the college.

As a fellow of this college I have attended the site professionally for a few decades.I wasn't intending to go in but my wife and 7yr old child wanted to see what was inside. We really enjoyed it, interesting, a bit gruesome, educational, and well presented.Definitely worth a look.
