Lovely walk, fabulous wood carvings along the way, excellent for dog walking and for children to learn about wildlife. The cafe/tearoom is fantastic, an excellent choice of food and drinks at reasonable cost.

Great forest experience for the family. Nice walks to do of which we followed the superworm, Julia Donaldson kids story route this time. Fun activity trail with tasks to complete with the kids. There is a cafe selling the usual hot cold stuff and an information centre . Toilets on site. For the kids there are play parks a plenty. A nice pond to see the ducks and wildlife etc. Parking is available including disabled spots however this is chargeable £2 for 2 hoursCash or pay on a phone app. Lots to do worth a visit.

This was our first ever visit, Saturday and was unfortunately met by a coach load of miserable, rude people, all of which were spitting over the floor, had some kind of gathering for a BBQ.Whilst looking at and talking to other visitor's like they were trash. Absolutely appalling.I was toileting my 4 children when the door was unlocked from the outside and in walked a girl about 12 wanting to use this specific toilet despite 3 others being empty. The mother then told my eldest who's only 10 (who was assisting her 5 year old sister) to GO GET OUT which then invoked a non to polite response from me to never address my children especially in that manner ever nor open the door whilst children are using the toilet ever again and wait to your turn or use the empty toilets, she mumbled something and I simply said let's discuss this outside without children present if there's an issue and she left.It was at this time I also noticed the gift shop had shut too, way earlier than the sign said.So NOW about the experience, the visitors center and toilets are lovely and clean. Gift shop has great affordable infact very low prices especially if you have multiple children. It also has a great display and an educational table. It's brilliant.Cafe was reasonably priced, again clean and everyone were super fun, friendly and very informative in regards to information about the site, it history and making understandable for children to enjoy and remember too.The walk is fantastic, has an exercise route too with equipment to try. Plenty of wonderful carvings and wood statues which had so much skill and detail.Information boards about the wildlife and it's types and best of all was the ZOG scan features on the trail. It was so much fun, kept the children encouraged to walk more and to find the next one to scan. It was absolutely fantastic. We wondered around for 4 hours in total had our picnic off the trail, then spent the last one hour in the play area.Ample play equipment, some great big slides all which because of the weather were wet and we got absolutely muddy which adds to the fun. Great park to play in we loved it.So much to do and we enjoyed playing with the other families too who wernt with the group BBQ'ing as they seemed to of not left the field/BBQ area at all and were still standing in the visitor center when we came back.So overall we absolutely fell in love with this place and will be back soon, it's probably the only walk I've ever been to that all four of our children haven't said we're tired or can't walk anymore. That in itself is worth another 50 visits haha. Plenty of parking too for everyone which is currently free for the moment the temporary signs says.

I had a wonderful day here walking the 'White' route, it was a fabulous place full of the noises of nature and people having fun walking, children playing and exploring. I loved the vintage train, the views over Rosebery topping, buzzards, siskin and robins in the trees. A place that everyone can enjoy, so so good. The cafe was almost closed when I got back but they let me buy a cold drink and snack for the journey home.
