Clun Castle
Ruins set in the small village of Clun. There is minimal information on the site, but it is lovely to see and has beautiful views. It is a free English heritage site. Would not be suitable for people with mobility issues as it is set on steep and uneven grounds

Wasn't sure what to expect here, but a delightful chance to explore the ruined castle.Small car park, but a brief walk took us over a bridge to the park around the castle. Plenty of clambering about. Not good for wheelchair users.Dog allowed on a lead.

Not much left but perfect if you like history and photography. Shame the bridge inside has gone there is a fence round the main tower so you can't get inside. Sunset here is stunning. Luckily, the weather was perfect on my visit.

There's not that much left to see - the remnants of the main tower are pretty impressive, but are all fenced off. Basically it's a large artificial hill with some fairly tumbledown castle remains on the top. Nice views over the surrounding countryside and a few benches at the top of the hill. Although it's an English Heritage site, there is no ticket office so anyone can enter for free. There is also a small free carpark just off the main road in Clun. Access to the site is via a footbridge - definitely not wheelchair friendly.

Clun Castle
Clun castle was once an important defence against the marauding Welsh. Later, a large tower was added, not in a defensive role but as a grand home. It has been in ruins for a long time now but nevertheless holds a striking position on top of a short steep hill in Clun.Free car park nearby, and explore the village too. A good day out.

Ruins of a 13th century Norman Castle. Very little left but good views and some information boards. No admission charge and car park is free and has toilets. Worth visiting if you're passing

Lovely area. Great little walk up to the castle. Free access. Wear something a little sturdier than sandals. Great views. Lots of benches to sit and admire the scenery. Has some picnic benches at the car park along with toilets.

Not much of the castle itself left, just 3 bits of wall. Despite this ut is worth the walk up the hilly site for some amazing views of surrounding landscape on a clear day. Can be accessed from a car park across a foot bridge, car park is pretty small maybe 10 to 20 cars max so we could park on the verge slightly up the hill on the otherside of the road.
