Lovely place for leisure and birdwatching. Rare bird species often turn up and the paths are good for disabled access. Main drawback is the truly terrible approach road to the car park. Negotiating the enormous potholes takes skill and time! A second drawback is the design of the “bird hides”. More like WW2 gun emplacements, they are reasonably okay for use with binoculars but pretty useless for using telescopes. Backache is the only thing you’re assured of getting!

Absolutely beautiful , love watching the swans and other wildlife. Absolutely love the wonky dirt track up to the pond . Perfect for paddle boarding. Beautiful place especially in summer to spend the day have a barbie a paddle and soak in the beautiful nature all around

Nice wee pond, swans ducks and the odd dog splashing about. When the weather's suitable you have the kids and adults out in the water with their paddle boards and canoes a nice wee wildlife area to the east of the pond and plenty parking but you've got to watch for the pot holes although they do get filled in. Enjoy cause it's a great wee area.

I found The Musselburgh Lagoons very peaceful especially after the very bumpy ride in. Beware if you plan to visit, potholes are many. Beautiful beauty spot. The lagoon is used for water sports, when I visited on a Thursday night, there were 2 rowing boats on the Lagoon with coaches encouraging and cheering the rowers on.

Nice location when you get to it and surprisingly popular given the state of the road that leads to it. Not really worth the risk of damaging your car in the huge potholes to get there.
