Kwik Fit - Dalkeith

Terrible branch- the staff are incredibly dismissive towards customers.I booked a battery fit. Dropped my car at the correct time. Then was told they were very busy, and I would get a phone call between 1-1.5 hours….When I didn’t get a call by the 2 hour mark (bear in mind this was just to fit a battery) I tried phoning. Twice they hung up on me straight away. So I decided to go down in person.When I asked the problem I was told the phones aren’t working properly. Then the staff member walked away from me as I was asking a question. I asked for a manager, and again was told that the phones aren’t working.I said how are customers meant to know when their car is ready, couldn’t they have used a mobile to contact me. I was informed that they do not use mobiles to contact customers, and that I should have realised to just come down when I felt it had been long enough.So this branch is expecting customers to have psychic abilities now. No apology, very rude manner to them. I certainly won’t ever use a Kwikfit again.I have found out that the stereotype of Kwikfit is true- rude staff, long waits, poor customer service!

I was genuinely surprised at how friendly and accommodating the staff were.I was shown what the problem was, given quote for repair and the car was repaired same day.A very good price too.

It was convenient to book an appointment at 3.15pm instead of dropping the car into a garage for the whole day. I arrived around 3.13pm and someone immediately walked over checking that it was for the MOT so they were clearly organised and expecting me. The mechanic took the key to start work immediately and advised that I could return around 45 minutes later. I returned at 4.05pm to find the MOT completed and my car was ready for collection.

Was very kindly squeezed in for a tyre repair when I showed up at 9am even though there were no appointments left. The staff member who helped me was great, got the puncture sorted and I was able to pick up the car before school run! Saved me a huge hassle, really fast and professional service, will definitely be recommending :)

After reviewing this place highly last year and being a returning customer since I started driving 6 years ago, I hate to say how disappointed I have been with the service lately.First, when booking in my car in person to check the breaks, I was told I was booked in for the following day at 10:30. This was 1 month ago. I showed up at my appointment and left the car thinking everything was okay. After not hearing from them, I called to see if they had time to look at the car yet but I was told that no, it was booked in for 12:30...very annoying but I wasn't busy that day so I let it go. My mother also had the same problem a week after where she booked in an MOT but when she went, they told her she wasn't booked in at all. She had to rush to find another garage to do the MOT before it ran out.After getting my break pads and discs changed I was told I'd hear squeaking for the first 100 miles. No worries, I travel between Falkirk and Edinburgh a few times a week so it would be gone after 1 week right? Wrong! It was still like that after 1 month.I booked my car in on Monday at the falkirk branch to see if they could check if there were any problems. After they checked, I was told that there was dirt trapped between the pads and discs because they were not cleaned and also told me that my back tires were dangerously cracked and treading below the legal limit. The staff there asked me a few times if I was sure the guys at Dalkeith didn't tell me this but I know they didn't otherwise I would have got them changed that day since I had the funds to do so. The lest time I heard about the tire cracking but not an issue yet was at my last MOT a year ago.I can't help but feel like the quality of work from Dalkeith has gone down significantly and will go somewhere else to get my car checked after this experience. I travel a lot so my car being in it's best condition is too important to me to mess up.Please do better and make sure your staff are doing their job correctly, this could have cause serious safety problems.

Helped us out by promptly dealing with a puncture - a new tyre was required. We had a motorway journey early next day, so they managed to fit it into their tight schedule, just before closing for the night. Much appreciated.

Great experience - managed to fit me in for an MOT at short notice, came back after an hour and all done. Davie is your guy - friendly, efficient and clearly knows his stuff. Will definitely be back for the service! Thanks!

Always had a great experience here. Staff are friendly, honest and willing to help which is more than can be said for a lot of garages! Only issue is there’s very limited parking spaces. I’d definitely recommend this branch.

Staff all VERY friendly and helpful and expert.Everything was ready and on time.There were two hiccups in my MOT, one needed me to reset a code, your engineer was very patient and helpful while I did so.Your depot is in a very handy location ! Not easy to see driving by, but well worth booking here, saves driving into Edinburgh & getting snarled in all that TRAFFIC !!With thanks :-))

Very good service. Bored an appointment for the time I required. I arrived and the car was dealt with immediate. The team ensured access to a new tire. However the tire could be repaired, and was very quickly for a fair price. Recommended.
