The service from Compass was excellent throughout, very responsive and highly professional. We had to take the case, for CHC funding for my mum, to NHS Tribunal on appeal where Compass secured a successful outcome thanks to their advocate who presented our case faultlessly. They were relentless in pursuing the case over an extended period. Thank you so much for securing the outcome which made a huge difference to my dad and our family.

I cannot recommend Compass enough. Our claim started in 2017 after 2 incorrect CHC assessments. Dad had already spent over a decade with CHC due to him having high dementia and other deep medical needs. Compass were so kind and respectful and always kept us updated throughout the entire drawn out process 100% due to the inefficiency of the CCG, it took from 2017 until 2022 for the CCG to even reassess him, dear Dad had passed away in 2018. To anyone reading this review Compass are THE people to speak to. Please stay strong and keep fighting for what is right, and with Compass on your side you will not fail.

Review of Compass continuinghealthcare (Compass CHC)The service provided by Compass CHC is exemplary in their staff, service, and process and is a onestop shop for families who are struggling to fund the care for their loved ones.We have just been successful in obtaining eligibility for NHS fully Funded Continuing Healthcare. This process took about 8 months during which time all the care records for my wife were sourcedfrom the various care providers, and the evidence of need for each of the domains in the NeedsChecklist were extracted.Experienced, law trained personnel then presented the evidence to the various Committees thusensuring that due process was followed. We would strongly recommend that if you are facing the difficult issues of the funding care for yourloved ones, that you contact Compass continuinghealthcare

I approached Compass thinking my relative might be eligible for CHC funding and hearing reports of how difficult the process was thought it might be sensible to get professional advice. They were very positive about my relatives chances and the initial screening questions they use seemed to indicate to them it was worth me using their services. Their service was thorough, although long and communication with them was often sporadic. It soon became clear to me that my relative had little chance of success, every healthcare professional I spoke to told me my mum would not be eligible for CHC and could not understand why I was paying a company for assistance in this matter. As the fees had been paid up front there was no going back, although I did try to have a conversation with them regarding my concerns, which unfortunately lead to me spending more money with them and having my concerns dismissed. I hoped everyone else was wrong as this company were professionals and experts, however my relative was declined for funding and Compass did not recommend an appeal. I do feel that a more thorough and realistic initial screening process would benefit myself and others like me who I believe have had a similar expensive and disappointing experience. Compass's current business model feels like it's main focus is making money as opposed to offering realistic CHC advice.

I contacted Compass two years ago to help with an application for funding for my wife's nursing home costs. The process was delayed due to the pandemic, but was eventually successful due to the excellent advocacy by the Compass team at the initial hearing and at the subsequent appeal hearing. The NHS does not make the process user friendly and there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that success would not have been achieved had I tried to do this without professional support from Compass. I have no hesitation in recommending their service.

After being told on several occasions by my husband's care home that it's a waste of time applying for NHS continuing care for him because he would be found ineligible I insisted that they do a check list. This led to him having a full assessment at which he was indeed found to be ineligible. It is with regret that I did this on my own. If I'd asked Compass to help me at this stage I am confident that we would have had a positive outcome.Instead I asked Compass to help me appeal. They literally just took all the worry away from me. It took 19 months to appeal and get a result. I would strongly advise anyone to ask Compass for help right at the beginning of the process. At the initial informal appeal the CHC representative wasn't in a position to be able to overturn the decision. It then went to a more formal appeal with a panel. The advocates both Kofi and Sarah put over my husband's case in such a way that the panel could not deny that he had a primary health care need.I wholeheartedly recommend Compass. I found everyone I dealt with to be very professional and highly knowledgable and realistic regarding the whole minefield of the CHC process. Their preparation in collating evidence to support their arguments was exemplary.I couldn't have achieved this on my own and would recommend anyone starting out on this process to get help from the outset. It is well worth the fees.

Thank you CompassMy wife having gone into residential care ( suffering from Alzheimer’s), I was facing, rather belatedly, the problem of funding her care. Thanks to Google, I discovered Compass, and thanks to Compass, I learned about”Fully Funded Continuing Health Care” - of which, prior to this, I knew nothing.Having explained the service which they could provide (and their fees!), Compass offered, and I accepted, a free preliminary assessment of my wife’s condition. Resulting from this, Compass stated that this was a case which, they felt, had a good chance of success, and I decided to engage their services- although they had made me aware that success could not be guaranteed and did not come easily. The whole process is complex and can seem frustratingly lengthy, but Compass kept me informed at all stages. The Initial Assessment, by the NHS, was “passed” and we proceeded, eventually, to the final stage - the DST meeting, where our advocate ( Mr Morgan Taylor, from Compass) presented our case. My son and I attended.)At the end of this meeting, although encouraged by the way it had gone, we did not know the result, which would not be announced until the NHS Board had received and considered the report of this meeting. My son and I agreed, however, that whatever the result, there was no way that we could have prepared my wife’s case as excellently as Mr Taylor had done. In addition, his presentation was professionally assured, and his knowledge of the “chapter and verse” intricacies of the various regulations and precedents, was dauntingly outstanding.Success was still not guaranteed, but the good news was not long delayed.Verdict - Money well spent! Thank you Compass. Thank you Mr Morgan Taylor.

I reached out to compass around the end of February to see if they could assist me in helping my father receive CHC full funding. They was very professional in their approach. There was a little ground work to do on my part but once they had the information needed they then set about retrieving all my fathers medical information with regular updates as to where we was at each and every stage of the case. If I had any queries I’d email compass and they would get back to me that day or the following morning without fail. I can honestly say that I’d recommend compass to anyone that is looking to try to secure full funding for a family member or friend. Compass acted very professionally and with due diligence. Their findings from my fathers medical conditions was enough to secure the full CHC funding I needed for my fathers care.Date of experience: 05 June 2023

Compass Continuing Healthcare have just succeeded in obtaining backdated NHS funding for our late mother. We have had a two year battle with the NHS after funding was withdrawn. Despite losing the initial review, Compass persuaded me that our case was strong and they have finally won our case on appeal. They did a fantastic job in preparing the report in support of our case and the advocate assigned to present our appeal , Morgan Taylor was very impressive. I would personally like to thank Morgan for such a diligent effort. I would 100% endorse this company to work on your behalf if you find yourself on the wrong end of a NHS funding decision following a Multi-Disciplinary team review.

Not only did Compass secure funding for the last year of my mother in law's life, but they have now successfully won a retrospective claim for another 2 1/2 years. This has reclaimed over £200k for the family in care fees! The money spent employing compass was money well spent. Please spread the word as I am sure that there are others in our situation who have not heard of Compass. They are a highly professional set up who really know what they are doing!
