Nice place for a little walk. Dog friendly. Lots of different routes around plenty free parking at various points. Nice views from top.

Within the city of Sunderland lies an ancient hill. A scenic spot indeed now soiled by doggers, allotment enthusiasts and sketchy taxi drivers innocently taking a rest and enjoying the beautiful views.One can, on a clear day, enjoy spectacular views of Sunderland, the North Sea and more of the North East. The hill itself if importance, being home to several species of wildflowers that are native to the habitat left by ancient coral deposits when the area was equatorial ocean.If you enjoy hills and live in Sunderland, you’ve probably already been up there.

Great views across the city, the hills them selves are part of a nature reserve and Site of Special Scientific Interest.
