I have bought a home with Mersea Homes in Chesterwell, Colchester. Mersea Homes are the best builders. People in the Sales Office are very very kind, helpful and patient in answering queries and addressing multiple follow-ups. I love living here! There’s loads of parks and greenery which makes it more visually pleasing. We’ve had no structural damages so it's been built with good quality. Flat was very clean when handed over.I feel comfortable and love living here. The flat is modern, bright and spacious, I get light coming in all day. The kitchen is the best part of the flat. The housing management is very quick in taking care of issues which is great. Our neighbours are friendly and easy to live around. I wanted to highlight one thing here, Mersea Homes has given the occupation of the house 2 months before the promised date so that I can avoid expiry of the mortgage offer which would have put me into a situation where I would have ended up paying 300£/month extra installment. Mersea Homes are simply superb.

We bought a new house on Chesterwell almost 6 years ago and we haven’t had a single grumble. Snagging list jobs were completed professionally and without quibble. Any queries we’ve had, the aftercare team have always been quick to respond. Having seen houses built by other companies on Chesterwell I can say with confidence, Mersea Homes builds are by far the best and so is the aftercare support.

Do not buy house from these ignorants. Open case with NHBC for over 18 months. Nothing resolved . Being completely ignored by them. Solicitors involved. Lots of stress because of many issues with brand new house. No quality checks at all. Disgusting. DO NOT DO ANY BUSINESS with these useless company

I moved into my Mersea Homes house just over 3 months ago and couldn't be happier! The house is beautiful and finished to a high standard. The house buying process was so smooth and Angela and Amanda in the sales office were amazing! So friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The development is lovely, nice wide roads and lots of green space and it has a lovely calm feel. I fully recommend!

AVOID . Absolute disaster company. Bought brand new house from them December 2021. Creaking floor issue since day 1 - not resolved for almost 20 months. Constantly being ignored by them. Escalated to NHBC and lawyers. Please do your research before buying anything from them. They using lowest quality materials. Houses being build during heavy rains. They not drying houses inside anymore. AVOID

Amanda made the whole experience of buying my home amazing, always greeted me with a smile, nothing was too much trouble, kept me up to date through the whole process... they say buying a home is one of the most stressful experiences, but with Mersea homes and Amanda that is not the case. The house is finished to a great high standard. The aftercare team are amazing, all very helpful and supportive, Specially Amanda she is always ready to help I don’t need to write a email to her for anything I just pop into sales office anytime she is so welcoming with the brightest smile on her face and always answer to all my questions after care is amazing . We got more fiends moved in here even we didn’t complete one year here within a year our friends moved in because of the place and quality after care everything matters .. I highly recommend mersea home and specially people should see Amanda for there smooth purchase she is Amazing in her work .. Thank you’ ..

My partner and I have just purchased our first home on the Chesterwell estate with Mersea Homes and could not be happier! From the initial purchase stage to moving in day, Amanda and Angela have been there every step of the way making our first purchase the smoothest possible. The aftercare team have also been amazing, Sharon and Andy have catered to every need and answered every question we have had. Brilliant service and would definitely recommend!

My whole experience of purchasing a house with Mersea Homes has been great. The customer service provided by Amanda, Angela and Andy was excellent.

Me and my brother have made the terrible mistake to purchase a property from Mersea Homes (at Horkesley Hamlet). All the chick and glam in the middle of rural Essex (as advertised by the builder) has turned out to be a terribly built house where the basic building standards have not been respected.1.The windows are leaking during the rain.2. The window handles were falling off.3. The patio tiles were moving.4. During and after the rain I had my own pond in the court.5. The plastering quality is awful (see photos).6. The paint is falling off the external door frames.7. The air vents are letting the air in and some of them were not even fixed, and the list goes on. Some of the issues are still not addressed 7 months after the completion which is a shame considering the exorbitant price.

I recently bought an apartment in Chesterwell House, and as a new buyer was a bit worried about the process and how it would turn out. Mersea Homes were fantastic though, and Amanda and Angela are a credit to the business.Both were brilliant whenever I visited with my parents and always took out time to make sure I was happy with my decisions and any answers I received to any questions I had. I cannot praise them another and wouldn't recommend anyone else when it comes to buying a property, first time buyer or not. The experience from start to finish has been flawless!
