Couldn’t fault this impeccable team at Carvers. If only we had a builders merchant like this in London hence the worthwhile road trip up north to Carvers. Would definitely make the trip again. Great selection and reasonable prices and top draw service. Thank you!

Very helpful and patient assistant. I must have spent a good ten minutes with him in the timber section before I decided on what I finally needed. He even went and cut down the long lengths I needed and to also fit in my car.

THIS IS WHAT YOU CALL BAD CUSTOMER SERVICEPhone the electrical department at CARVERS to check if they have in stock and while waiting for answer the guy answered the phone, i asked his advice on cable rating and price, also if he had it in stock, he replied yes and then he said ( I'VE GOT A TELEPHONE CALL ON THE OTHER LINE AND PUT THE PHONE DOWN). Never let me finish to see what i needed.When a customer calls and asks for availability on certain products you advise them, A Customer who is enquiring is more important than the next one because a sale is a sale, No wonder businesses close with bad service.

This is an amazing place. You may find almost whatever you need for your projects. Products are good, there is a large choice and prices are reasonable. However, the five stars mostly relates to the Staff. They are extremely courteous, well informed and helpful. I would send employees from other companies to Carvers for a training about how to behave with customers!

Picked up some MDF. Plenty of stock. Helpful staff.

Visited Carvers Timber department today - the service was excellent and Carl who helped me couldn’t have done more, he even offered recommendations about how to treat the wood etc. Nice to see there are people out there with good customer service skills that care. Will definitely be visiting again!

I would NOT recommend the Bathroom Department at Carvers and these are my reasons why:-1). Poor attitude to paying customers, especially once you’ve placed the order.2). Don’t go too close to closing time, they are more interested in going home than a sale3). Told a delivery time of 4 weeks, then told it would be 6, finally got a PART order at end of week 7. This may be in part Utopia’s fault, we only ordered a two drawer wall hung unit (800mm)4). When order finally arrived the wrong tap was delivered and handles missing from unit.5). Rhys was very polite in order to make a sale, but was hostile, unhelpful and shouty in his emails and verbal communications.6). Initially sceptical of our issues, okay once dialogue open and Carvers realised we were not trying to pull a fast one. Took time to get to this point.7) Don’t chase your order to get an expected time for delivery, they don’t like that and will drag their heels and conveniently make sure things are missing from your order. They like customers to play guessing games.8). Utopia furniture is vastly overpriced and overrated and poor instructions with goods. I would imagine if you ordered more units from Utopia you may wait years.9). Tried to get advice to fitting worktop, but not interested, they’ve made the sale, money in their pocket, no longer interested.10). No brass overflow ring included, despite them saying they would do this for us11). We ordered a different worktop to the one we received, again, partly Carvers and Utopia’s fault.12). Still waiting for handles from Utopia, probably in week 10 now, with no expected date given.HOWEVERTransport department very helpful, approachable and understanding, including Paul and the driver and the lady answering Transport’s phone.

What a lovely experience, so very organised and lovely helpful staff, couldn’t do enough for you.

I've been to carvers many a time but really only go now for Auto Gas.They ahve the cheapest Auto Gas in the area at usually 69p a litre.Very friendly and knowledge staff and always smiling what ever the weather.Also a great place and reasonably priced building products.
