Central Backpackers Oxford

It's in a really noisy room (two big night clubs just in front). The receptionist was nice and the facilities are more or less well maintained. The made up random rules when it was convinient for them. They have a small terrace and we were there one night without talking (we were with the headphones watching a movie in the tablet) and they told us (a bit rude) to leave immediately because that are was closed. There was nothing about that on the rules, on any signs or anywhere visible. No-one told anything before, yet it seems like we magically" should had known. Later on I discovered that the staff room is facing that terrace. So it's okay for the guests to have plenty of noise in the room but using the terrace in a considerate way

Loved the stay in this hostel! Good location, beds are comfortable and it is clean. The service was impeccable, having additional beds being added to accommodate all of us. Also, the personnel were very nice and always there to help! Although it can be a bit noisy on the street outside, earplugs, provided for free, solve this perfectly. Highly recommended!

I stayed in Central Backpackers for 4 days. It was in the beginning of September and it was greater than I expected. I got some new friends from different countries, I was practicing English very intensive for such a short time and I experience Oxford vibe more than without Central Backpackers. Maybe this opinion can be a little overrated by me, because it was my first trip abroad by my own, but I think if you are looking for some cheap place in Oxford with good location, good quality of accommodation and especially with great place to meet new people and practice your English as well, definitely you should check out this place!

We are returning customers and feel welcome every year. The service is especially good and the hostel employees are very kind and supportive. My booking was done here by organizers of an Academic conference. I can say this has been the best backpackers hostel I've stayed in so far. Such a cozy space, with friendly staff and guests. Many of the participants stayed here. I stayed in the female dorm which had a lot of common space as well. There is a recreation room, a reading & dinning area, a chilled terrace area and big mirrors in many parts. I liked their equipped kitchen a lot, and the morning coffee/tea that was always complimentary. They also let me keep my bags in a storage facility for several hours after checking out, so thank you for that.If I were to ever visit Oxford again, would stay here without a second thought. Kudos to the team.

Eight persons in a room is much. And the bars on the other side of the street have been very loud. But they had earplugs for free. The staff made e very good job to keep everything clean. They were very helpful, friendly, cordial, really likable. Sorry that with my many activities in Oxford I had no energy to give anything back.

This hostel deserves an absolute recommendation. It is clear, well-maintained and the staff is incredibly nice and very willing to help. To accommodate us, they even added additional beds to the room. The street on which the hostel is located can be a bit noisy but simple earplugs- which they offer - solve this problem very simply. The location is furthermore great. Conclusively, a great hostel!Thank you to the wonderful staff.

Thé hostel is clean and the bed are fairly comfortable, however the staff were incredibly rude and I was made to feel the entire time as if it was their space and that I was intruding. It was constantly loud and they would openly complain about other guests in front of me. Highly unprofessional and in the end, expensive for what it was.

The rooms and rest of the hostel were very clean, but not very spacious, and they were slightly outdated. Some of the staff members did speak proficient English, but it wasn't annoying or anything. The location was great, near the trainstation, busstation and the city centre!

Central backpackers is definitely one of the nicest hostels I've stayed at! Great location being incredibly close to the train station, and close to all the main sights of Oxford.It can get a little loud at night due to the bars below - but honestly very easily solved with some ear plugs !!!Rooms were big and kitchen facilities were immaculate!!Really lovely staff who were incredibly helpful and run a great pub crawl!and!!! when I left something at the hostel they offered to post it to me !!!Highly recommend a stay here ♥️
