Wick Post Office

I went into this shop yesterday. After dragging herself away from the TV to serve me, I bought 2 packets of sweets for my children and when I got to the car I checked the packets and they were out of date by 8 months, I returned to the shop to inform the woman and she said I suppose you will want a refund! " in an ill tempered voice. I said I was happy to exchange them for something else. After swapping she said to me " do you know what I will do with these sweets? I will eat them as its only the best before date". This woman has a terrible attitude for a shop owner/worker. I will never go to this shop again

Wow ok....So the woman that runs this shop is a true weapon.went in for bin bags and a few bits, never been to the shop before,completely ignored me while I was at the till waiting to make a purchase, then and looked at me and went back to watching her tv...What seemed like an eternity later, she managed to do her job by Scoffing at me like it was a complete hardship to serve a customer.I’m confident the only reason she is open is because there is no other shops in the villageAvoid like the plague before the black hearted demon spawn of Satan drains your life away.

Mary the women in the shop is rude constantly. You have to be careful what you say otherwise she'll chop you down. She has out of date stock and charges what she wants that's why she doesn't advertise prices. She's ruining the post office brand and needs a change of hands. As she is the only shop in the village she is allowed to monopolise this. If another shop pops up people will definitely go elsewhere. Post office need to send someone undercover to check her. They'll see what I'm saying is true. The majority of the village feels this way. Looks to me as she gave herself 5 stars or one of her friends. Horrible women who shouldn't be running a shop.

I didn’t even want to give 1 star, but here we go. I rarely review but this was something else. I wanted to return an ASOS package and the post office by me was shut so I went to this one in WIck. I walked in and asked if the the post office was open the woman said “well look at the sign.” I thought nothing of this and continued to try and post my package. I told the woman that she needed to scan my phone for a a return label, she told me “I work at the post office, not you.” I started to feel a little uncomfortable at this point but persevered . She brought out instructions to then tell me she needed to scan my phone, which I had already said but there we are...My phone wouldn’t load and she said “how would you feel now if three people were behind you, you’re lucky you’re not in llanwit.” I decided at this point to take my package else where. What a rude lady.

Mary at the post office is fantastic and a woman of character and bundles of personality. I have spent many happy shops putting the world to rights with Mary at the same time as finding my groceries. She is a very straight forward person with years of worldly experience who tells it like it is which is very refreshing and its a shame that people can’t cope with a bit of straight talking from a self assured older lady without writing unkind reviews. Mary adds even more character to this wonderful village which wouldn’t be the same without her! Top marks from me Mary!!

Little wonder why village post offices are closing. I politely asked if I could have some documents certified, I was also buying a few items from the shop. I was abruptly told she didn’t get paid for documents,go to Llantwit, I only certify for locals. I understand some PO can offer different services,however some people need to learn some simple manners.

I look forward to popping in to see Mary for essentials like bread, milk, tobacco and a natter. Whenever I'm in the village I try to visit. Some of the comments on here are just rude and I think often people should stop and take time to reflect; why am I so defensive?! Mary doesn't suffer fools and I wouldn't either, she's great.It's a nice little local shop and it's nice to pop in to say, Hi Mary :)

Mary is a lovely lady , Always good to me , I pop in several times a week for the usuals Bread milk coffee , tobacco etc. she’s ok to me. I was even short a few pence a couple of days ago , she was fine with it , I also use the place for cash withdrawals. , A bit savage some of the other reviews on here , She wouldn’t read them or care about them , Ask her why she’s been in Buckingham palace. Fir an MBE off the Queen. , Very interesting lady. Respect from me Mary. , & thanks.

Went to the post office today for the first time , I found Mary very helpful, explained everything to me about recorded delivery and had loads of patience. Mary was chatty and very friendly I think I will still go again even when our post office opens in St Brides.

I’ve never felt the need to write a negative complaint until visiting this Post Office today. The lady who works here is shockingly rude for no reason what so ever. I was very polite so there was no need for her to speak to me the way she did. I’ve heard many people comment about her attitude but I was in the area and thought 1 parcel would not be a problem. I will never use this Post Office again and will be advising others to go else where too. I’ve also sent an email to the Post Office complaints team.
