Gary Bailey of Surrey Hills Bikes is very experienced and an excellent teacher. We are 76 and have ebikes; Gary's got us riding well off-road and down some unexpected trails. He could teach anybody of any age! He also services bikes and is most accommodating about picking them up and returning them to home. We strongly recommend him.

Gary and the team come highly recommended. I've had both lessons and guides from Gary before and even though I ride a lot, it's useful to have a refresher on the basics from time-to-time. The stuff he's taught me has stuck in my mind and improved my riding. Also just had my bike serviced by Gary. He kept me up-to-date, economised where possible and didn't overcharge for parts. I'm a competent diy-er but it's really not worth the hassle, when I can have it done professionally at these rates. Cheers guys!

Quick, efficient and cost effective. Good advice - Gary always goes above and beyond. I recommend if you want your bike serviced or upgraded.Gary has also coached me and various member of my family - he's patient and easy to learn from. It helps that he's my age and has family too - not a 22 year old earning beer tokens.

I highly recommend Surrey Hills Bikes for repairs. Gary was very helpful on the phone then on email giving his opinion on what might need changing/repairing. He did a great job on my three bikes and didn't do anything that was not needed (salvaging existing parts rather than replacing as I had suggested). Had a couple of minor issues with my Cannondale Quick Carbon, so took it to Gary as he's just down the road from me.He bled the brakes and installed new pads, replaced the chain and gear cables, wheels trued, cleaned the gear mech and jockey wheels, installed a new shimano cassette (after phoning for approval), gears indexed and front mech aligned. All this for only £57 labour charge! Exceptional value. It's like a brand new bike now and the shifts are like a well-oiled rifle bolt!If you have a bike in need of a little TLC, I would highly recommend giving him a call.

Gary managed to fit me in before his holiday. Brakes sorted and seat dropper wire changed. He did it quickly and even checked my fine tuning in the derailleur. Very acceptable charges.

Gary who runs Surrey Hill Bikes has come to my rescue several times and has both quickly and expertly sorted out problems with my bike. His collection/return service makes life so much easier than any alternative option. I would not hesitate recommending him to others

Surrey Hills Bikes recently (August 2016) serviced a touring bike for me prior to a short trip to France. I was impressed by the fact that they offered a collect-and-return service for their local customers. When Gary Bailey came to collect the bike, he was extremely helpful in talking through all the options, and I particularly appreciated that he didn't try to steer me towards the more expensive ones. In the end it was my decision to ask for a pretty full service, and I was not disappointed: when I tested the bike on return, it felt like a new bike - what a difference! Previous services had not resolved some annoying defects, but these have all been resolved, and the bike has behaved impeccably since then.They will definitely be getting my business in future.

Gary has serviced our family's mountain bikes for a couple of years now. quick, efficient and honest is my feedback. i was getting very fed up that local shops were seeking to charge me more to service my bike than the garage charges me to service my Mercedes car. hence Gary has been a breath of fresh air.
