Maxi's Mates Rescue & Rehoming Centre

We first met the Maxis volunteers while Christmas shopping three years ago, rather than spend a fortune on cards we donated to their charity. The next year we decided to volunteer to help walk the dogs at the rescue on a weekend. After doing this for a few months we had a home check carried out as we were keen to adopt a dog and didn’t want to miss out on the right dog for us. The home check was carried out very thoroughly and in a pleasant professional manner. Not long after we met Rocky at Maxis Mates and after walking him a few times we knew that he had chosen us as much as we had chosen him for his forever home. We have had Rocky nearly two years now and he has fitted in perfectly with our family. We still continue to support Maxis, their charity work and love to see the pupdates in their ‘success group’ of all the dogs they have helped to rehome over the years. xxx

We had an absolutely incredible experience adopting Lola from Maxis Mates. The correspondence was incredible. The staff at the kennels were lovely and so loving towards the dogs. Lola was very well cared for before she came home with us. We were also very well informed through the whole process and were allowed to visit as many times as necessary before bring Lola home. Been for a visit today looking for a new fur baby. We will definitely be back, a few caught my eye. Its quite a lengthy process, first a visit then fill in a form then a meet and greet with the dog. But I totally get it, the dogs were well looked after they all had toys in their cages and clean water.

First time I'd been. Bigger than I thought. Wasn't there long just dropped some things off..

This is a strange one to give a 5 star review. I didn't love it, it's really sad seeing all those dogs that need a home. However the staff are great, the kennels are always clean and they go over and above to try and keep the dogs happy.

Amazing place!! So many sad stories but the dogs are clearly well cared for and loved by all the staff/volunteers. Just went in for a look around today but will definitely be taking one home with me soon!

I haven't had any experience, but I did with Waterfall Kennels.Thank god that place doesn't exist.I did rescue my Max.A wonderful Rottweiler.I have donated to Maxie's Mates and will continue to do .

Thanks to Maxi's we now have our beautiful Luna and Jake has a new friend.Staff were very helpful and caring which made the process easy.So grateful there are people like you out there to care for these dogs who all deserve a chance.

Only went to drop off some old towels and duvets and now I'm waiting to be home checked and have fallen for a little dog with no name!We were shown around by a lovely girl who wasn't even working that day, she'd only popped in to drop off some donations, she took the time to introduce us to all the dogs and told us all about them.They're all doing an amazing job.

So sad to see so many dogs needing homes but so nice of all the volunteers and staff who work here making it better for the dogs and taking them for walks. I love coming here with my daughter and walking the dogs and give a little donation to help out.
