Bigger than I expected. Was good to see the pandas before they left. Beautiful views from around the giraffe area. Great to see the penguins and otters having fun and the baby wallaby. Some nice art around the zoo too

Wonderful time at the Zoo seeing all the animals and the amount of space they have compared to some Zoo’s I’ve been to so that was great to see. Missed the Panda by a few days but got to see the tigers & lions however the Otters were asleep so bit too early for them at 11am

This place is amazing! They have everything you could possibly wish for in a zoo and more than you could ever expect. All the staff are well educated and always friendly in case you have any questions about any of their animals. This zoo cares for their animals and you can tell. Edinburgh zoo also offers tons of options for great food and also they don’t use any single use plastics. This place is perfect for anyone and everyone no matter age, physical ability or interests.

Had a fantastic trip to the zoo a few weeks ago! Visited from Belfast. Lady at reception had family from Ireland and we had a great conversation! Most animals were visible and the food options were fantastic too. Great for adults and kids alike. Also amazing to see the pandas before they leave!

My wife and I visited the zoo on an October afternoon. We had a fine experience. It was the October holidays, so the zoo was incredibly busy. Mostly with unruly children and adults with little apparent interest in controlling them. Not the zoos fault, but it certainly had an impact on our visit. The day itself was cold, so some of the animals weren't doing much other than snuggling each other or in their beds. Is what it is, though some of them perhaps could do with a little more heat in their indoor enclosures. They have a good array of animals, the highlight being the Giant Pandas. We managed to get close to one while it sat back against the glass, an unforgettable experience for us (though the glass rendered all pics useless). Other highlights include; the giraffes (who were briefly fighting), the one horned rhinoceros (a magnificent beast), the penguins (we caught them at feeding time) and the playful monkeys. Sadly the sloths were sleeping, but I expect that's the norm.A few minor things; numerous mice in the armadillo enclosure (not sure if that is allowed but it was strange), most of the spider monkeys were scratching vigorously and obviously bothered by something (fleas?) And the place has a slightly run down appearance in places. The cost is not cheap, but worth it.All on all I recommend this zoo, if you love animals you will have a great time.

Love this zoo, only downside is that it's on a huge hill so it's a nightmare for wheelchair users.Penguin enclosure is amazing though, could stand for hours and watch!Been a couple of times and never spotted the pandas but it's fantastic they're able to home them!

Excellent. Loved the new giraffe enclosure. Being autumn time the repair works around the park had started. It good to see them keeping on top of things for the animals.Great day out. Beware of the fact the whole thing is on the side of a hill though.

Only place in UK to see Pandas! Downside to the Zoo is not being very disabled friendly - steep hills no railing. Half of the shops/cafes (market stalls) were closed. Not very well marked, we found ourselves doubling back a lot. Even with a map. Really enjoyed the 'Living Links' (monkeys).

Excellent zoo that has great animals, staff and educational materials. Their giant pandas are available until the end of November 2023. The penguins, tigers, and giraffes are all amazing to see. I respect the idea of zoos but it breaks my heart to see some in enclosures. Despite zoos not being my tempo, it deserves 5 stars for being an excellent zoo. I'd recommend you buy tickets online as they are cheaper. An adult ticket is around £24.

Excellent zoo, one of the best we've visited. Very clean facilities, staff friendly and helpful! We visited to see the pandas. We went in November so was pretty quiet, but we saw loads of the animals and we had a fab day!The website says the parking is very limited. There are around 50 spaces, so not too limited. But I'd imagine in peak times, the earlier you arrive the better!
