Driven past this little church hundreds of times and decided to call in one day. The gardens are well maintained and create an oasis away from the main city. There are great views of the Liver Building too. Worth a visit if you are in the area.

Wonderful, welcoming people ❤ Attended morning Mass. It's name is St. Nicholas, who is the patron saint of sailors. Beautifully restored Gothic church. It was bombed and destroyed during the Battle of Britain, WW Ii. There has been a church on this site for 750 years.

Lovely historic place near the waterfront know as St Nicks or The Sailors Church. I visited during the River of Light festival and thought it was a lovely display. Good to visit anytime and as it's near the riverside plenty to see.

A really nice piece of architecture and history from Liverpool. Positioned nearby to the Liver Building this is an interesting piece of architecture to visit and find the hidden features of it.

This is a lovely place to pop into if you have a few minutes to relax. I enjoy sitting in the grounds with a coffee for a 10 minute breather, there are some beautiful plants, and there's often someone to chat to too. Inside the church itself is lovely, very peaceful and calm, though I tend to prefer the grounds personally

Liverpool Parish Church (Our Lady and Saint Nicholas)
A spiritual oasis of calm in Liverpool city very close to the Mersey river and ferry terminal. A beautiful C of E Church rebuilt on the original site of worship dating back over 600 years.I visited this week as part of the Easter Holy week with my daughters, revisiting this church after many years to pray and reflect. Open to visitors the week we went during the day and within a peaceful garden grounds also overlooking the riverfront and Liver Building. Ongoing services weekly continuing the important service of worship and connectionYes - highly recommended.SM.Highly recommended to

A peaceful little oasis in the city. A nice spot to get away from it all with some of the best views of the Liverbuilding. Love it here.

Beautiful and tranquil church in the heart of the city. Take a few moments to read the commemorative plaques which provide an insight into its history and significance of the shipping trade.

According to records, a church has existed on this site since midway through the 13th century. Expanding as the city grew, the church played many roles through history: a plague graveyard in the 14th century, a prison for Parliamentary forces in the English Civil War, a worship site for mariners and a bustling hub as the port of Liverpool developed. The current church was built in 1952 after the old church was gutted by incendiary bombing during the Liverpool Blitz. The tower is currently the oldest part, dating from a previous reconstruction in the early 19th century.Inside the church is an open, airy space with a high ceiling and clerestory. The carved screens and pews are ornate but not ostentatious. The font is a modern piece, with stained glass sides and a large basin on top.The church is in a neatly manicured garden near the waterfront, and is home to several war memorials.
