This place is the epitome of a depressing environment. The staff have absolutely no empathy for the jobseeker, although I do understand they must have to deal with some complete wasters which must be frustrating. When I’ve been unfortunate enough to have to use their services, it is a tale of constant haranguing and harassing and being given the impression that I should be grateful for receiving my payments. As another reviewer has mentioned, they never seem to read the journal before the appointment, the same journal that I have spent quite some time meticulously filling in.Therefore, it’s typically 50 questions before we even get on to how THEY are going to help me find a (suitable) job. In fact, they don’t actually help at all. I have been actively encouraged to go on totally irrelevant courses which neither stimulate nor interest me and which are, at the end of the day, worth zip to anyone. The DWP, like many British institutions, needs grass roots reform. They can start by giving more emphasis to re-training and up skilling those that want to climb out of this situation with relevant courses, take into account claimants’ current mental and social conditions and appearing, if nothing else, as if they are putting more emphasis on getting younger/foreign claimants out into work to start paying their way, rather than keep push push pushing older UK born claimants back out of the door.

I was made redundant in mid January 2023, I applied for Job Seekers Allowance. I would just like to say that the staff I had contact with (Mandy and Wendy) were so helpful andabsolutely very positive with me. It was very daunting for me as I had not been in this predicament before. I have now been accepted a job and I wanted to let Mandy and Wendy know how appreciative that I am to them, so called in to let Mandy know I had a job offerI’d just like to say ‘Thank you both’Today I also witnessed abuse to a member who of staff in theJob centre, something I had not seen before but have realised that this is probably a daily occurrence.I’m probably going to get a lot of negative comments but I can only go with my experience and what I have seen. I have the utmost respect for people working in this environment and what I have seen.Again many thanks for the help I have received and I just would like to give recognition to I the staff and for what can sometimes a very difficult/challenging job.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Terrible service, they don't read the journals (utter waste of time) and they do not answer the 'phone. I have no idea what they actually do.

My friend had an appointment she has a 7 month old daughter so I went with her to her appointment to look after her daughter so she could get through her appointment without having to worry. We was moaned at for taking up too much room on the sofa and told we were not allowed to sit in there unless we had appointments to wich a lady actually came and moved my friends pram so she could stand there and talk to someone else. The staff are Rude, miserable and running late! AVOID AT ALL COSTS find somewhere else if you have kids! Not worth the worry! Supposed to be a helpful and welcoming place... far from.....

Been here twice, and both times we found the staff here incredibly welcoming and extremely helpful. They helped us through all the paperwork and went out of their way to make sure we understood everything that was said. I think that Stamford JCP should be the benchmark that other offices try to achieve. A huge thanks to all the staff there.

Disgusted staff are unprofessional and you get put through to a call center. They have no idea on job clarification.

Went in to ask for help from them and they basically turned me away.If I wanted to look things up on the internet, I would; but I went in wanting help from them in person. They didnt offer this. They were very standoffish- it was almost as if they didn't want me there. It was a bad experience.
