I have worked in film and television design for over 30 years , and as you can imagine have had my hair cut by many famous stylists however Nancy at the Salon ranks one of the best cutters ever and I hope she cuts my hair and keeps me looking fabulous for many years to come. I and my partner highly recommend The Salon at Wellswood. The staff and owners are so friendly and make the whole experience worthwhile. Well done to all at The Salon . Regards Allan

My first time at this salon, I told the stylist I was growing my hair as long as I could and that it had never been so long before, I loved it being longer than its normal length but that since I had been trimming it myself at home the ends were probably not in line. I asked her to even the ends a tiny bit so that it wasn't jagged. She checked how much I wanted her to cut with her fingers and we agreed that she would cut 1 inch at the absolute most just to even the ends. She asked me if I wanted her to shape it and I said absolutely not no.In truth i didn't really want a lot done but it was a special day for my mum and she really wanted to have a haircut together so it was a compromise that I would get a tiny trim so that we could do it together.As the stylist worked we talked about my distrust of salons since the stylists rarely listen to me and usually do what they think is best rather that what I asked them to do (wrong colour dye, wrong length, wrong style etc.). This has happened more than I can count. She said she was appalled by that. As I wear glasses, and I have to remove them for the cut, I couldn't see what she was doing until she was almost finished and moved to the front. As the hair fell onto me, I held up a piece of my hair from my lap that was almost 4 inches long and sighed. There was no point complaining since she was almost done by then. My hair was already ruined. She had cut all the longest parts off the length to bring it up to meet the shortest parts. That is not what I asked her to do, repeatedly, but it is what she thought would look best I assume. My hair was now all one length to match the front.I only went to the salon as a courtesy to my mum. No good intention goes unpunished.I will not be going back, nor would I recommend their services to anyone as clearly, they do not listen well. I will have to try to regrow at least 5 months of length now or get some extensions as I am back to my normal length. Since I don't know why it grew so long suddenly in the first place, it's never done before, I'm hoping it will grow back. My mum paid for the cut and even tipped the stylists, since it's her regular salon and didn't want to make a fuss. I'm just upset.

Caitlin is just the best. I’ve visited a lot of hairdressers in the past and I am always very impressed with Caitlin’s styling of my hair. It lasts for days and always looks classy and is done with great care and attention. Would highly recommend The Salon. Everyone is so friendly, Caitlin, Sue and the lovely owners. Fantastic hair salon!

I had Amy do my hair for a wedding yesterday. My hair was put up with rings in a bun shape, Amy put in my facinator and some other flowers in the hair. It was stunning. It did not budge an inch all night. Even with an open top car journey 1 hour each way it all stayed in place. Ive found a new salon. The atmosphere was lovely with lots of space and no one crammed in like other salons. I also struggle with anxiety so having the dogs around really helped. They are gorgeous. ❤

Poodles greeted me upon entering, what a fabulous surprise!!! If not only for the Poodles, I will definitely be back for the posh (in a good way) and super friendly atmosphere and of course for the magic bouncing curls Caitlin made out of my mess of a hair! Lush experience, much recommended. Thank you!

Cannot fault the staff at this lovely, chilled out salon. The staff are always friendly and listen to what you want with your hair. They have great attention to detail and the products used are gorgeous. They are a little more costly than some salons, but they are worth it. They offer teas and coffees during your appointment and regularly check up to see how you are doing. Would recommend The Salon, to anyone.

Excellent cut and colour done by Amy. My hair looks the fullest and most glossy it has ever done. Amy is both friendly and professional. My first time there but definitely not my last.

I hadn't been to a hairdressers for a very long time, I was told to make an appointment even though The Salon was many miles away but in the area that I used to live. I had used shop dyes for years but thanks to Bj's professionalism, patience and care, he managed to get all of the build up of colour out. Then Ian, again so professional, caring and understanding, completely restyled my hair. I would recommend all the Stylists at the The Salon in Wellswood and I am looking forward to my next appointment. I have to compliment them on all they have done to make The Salon a safe and healthy environment.
