Mulberry Harbour
In low tide, you can walk to the wreck and see history up close.

Mulberry Harbour
A tough walk but this must be done with caution. Knowing the tides is essential

A nice walk out to see the harbour in the sea. Make sure you wear suitable foot wear for the initial 100m or so then after that you can go barefoot. Also check the tides online as the tide comes in rather fast and you could get trapped. Well worth the walk for the lovely views and to see the kite surfers up close.

My kids absolutely love it....... Old World War II temporary Harbour.... Sunken in the Channel. Its a solid 3 mile walk to get there and back.... You have to watch the tide times. Walk out on the outgoing ride..... Depending on which direction you approach it, you will be wading through water, between sandbanks, some ankle deep some thigh deep....... Once out at the harbour its a massive flat sand Bank. The barge itself is sunk, and in deep water, so it's like a giant natural swimming pool. It's a great spot..... And worth the walk. The only downside is the tide... I'd love to spend more time there, but you obviously have to walk back before the tide comes back in. Would I do it with very young children.... Probably not...... Unless you, and they are confident in and around water. It really is worth the walk.

Good viewing spot to watch the SS Richard Montgomery go bang. The masts were due to be removed this year but they have discovered some Bombs on the seabed where they were going to site the crane. Oops !

Mulberry Harbour
About a 1.5 mile walk from the beach which took around 45 minutes at a fair pace. Walk was not too challenging, just make sure to wear appropriate footwear, ideally wet shoes with a fairly good sole as the first couple hundred metres are very pebbly and stoney. I’d also recommend checking out the tide timetable in the information board beforehand to make sure you go out and come back in good time

Love it here. I always walk out 1h and 30mims before low tide and walk back 30 mins after low tide to ensure I'm safe x

Just a beautiful, peaceful place to walk out to and get a small piece of history thrown in.
