Parr Public Library
This library has been on the block for longer than I've been suffering from my well documented cancer of the toe and that says a lot considering the Parr placement. The staff have stuck with the library through thick and thin and kept their composure when dealing with my devastating paper cut.EDIT: I have fully recovered from my injury and am rearing and ready for reading again, thanks Janet from the main reception!

Walked into here after having not visited a library in a few years, and found that the staff and facilities are top notch. I had some issues with my account, and was told by the end of the day they would know more. Fast forward maybe an hour, all issues resolved. Bear in mind, the issues with my account dated back 5+ years. Solved in an hour.

This summer Parr library had a Reading Challenge in which my 7yr old great granddaughter took part. Yesterday we were invited along with the other children for a presentation of certificates. All I can say is that the staff here are absolutely wonderful, really well organised and helpful. It would be a doing the people who use Parr Library a terrible disservice if the council were to close it.

A lovely little library and a valuable resource for communities in Parr, Sutton etc. Lovely, helpful staff too. Shame on St Helens Council sharpening the axe and marking it for closure. I appreciate their hands are tied budgeting wise from Westminster and the disgusting Tories but once this is lost, it's gone for good, just like Sutton Library in the 90s (a listed building demolished for flats!). We all want to see Central Library back in the Gamble, but we shouldn't have to lose several small community libraries for one big centralised one
