I hadn't been to the Mitre much since the revamp. Mainly because of the TV in the former snug, but on this visit the volume was turned down and there was a great atmosphere.

Nice, cosy pub with well kept Harvey's cask ales and cold, crisp keg lagers and Guinness if that's your cup of tea. Met with smiles from the friendly staff and the polite, welcoming locals as soon as we arrived. A local pub for everyone it seems. Cheapest pub in the area, the music at a perfect volume and even has clean, fresh smelling gents toilets. It has all the hallmarks of a great pub and gets all the basics right, a rare breed in this day and age!

Very old school, from a Brighton which has long gone, don't think that the interior has been changed in years. Not that this is a bad thing, makes quite a refreshing change at times away from the trendy scene. Staff are ok, very much see through the way they talk to drinkers it's a real local boozer. I would say the down side is perhaps a bit of background music would be nice.

Conveniently-located traditional pub with friendly staff, a wide selection of drinks, a lovey warm atmosphere, comfortable seating and a generally good vibe.

The Lovely Taylor served a very busy pub on her own during the World Cup was so polite and helpful, even went out her way to travel upstair and makeTea and coffee! Highly recommend in the Brighton area.

Nicely done out recently and much brighter and welcoming. Beer garden/smoking area is a bit drab but will need a bit of TLC and lots of planning for such a small area to improve it. Just starting to do food again Thurs to Sunday, so hope that really takes off. Staff very efficient and felt very covid safe. I'm not keen on constant horse racing on the TV's but it seemed to suit others there. I'm told the Harvey's is wonderful!

Popped into The Mitre on the off chance for a decent pint.Low and behold they had a few nice Harvey’s ales that were well kept. Probably not a surprise given it’s mostly a Harvey’s pub to be fair. The prices were spot on. In the window I spied Burger Off were being advertised. What a time to be alive given they haven’t been in their Hove incarnation for a while.Hope springs eternal one would hope.

Very good Brighton Harvey's pub not far from the railway station. 4 cask beers on handpump, including a mild and a porter, when I visited. Very quiet a couple of hours before a game at the American Express Community Stadium.
