Gem of a place, garden's are amazing, different sections, lot's of colour. Particularly loved the glass houses with an amazing selection of plants . All well attended. Tea room was nice had homemade soup with a lovely large roll and able to sit out with views of the garden. Highly recommend.

Easy to find with Map apps on phone. Good parking and nice coffee shop with decent cakes. House is very interesting showing how the very well off lived at the start of the 20th century. The gardens were undergoing maintenance during the winter but still very presentable. We will return in the Spring. Good second hand bookshop too.

Amazing woodland, garden and the house itself was remarkable. All the bonsai trees looked amazing and well looked after.Loved the art exhibition upstairs!I chose to have the soup of the day (it was carrot and coriander - recommended by one of the lovely gentleman in the kitchen who worked there), so I gave it a try and it was very delicious. The scone was very tasty too, and soft. All in all, it was an excellent and quick service along with great food.

Such beautiful place to visit. I think this may have been the first time that we visited in summer. It's beautiful to see so much life in the garden. On this occasion, we attended the Rare Flower event. It was wonderful.Acessibilty wise the garden is good there is some loose gravel so if your in a wheelchair you may have some issues. There is a lift in the house. Toilets located in the house and outside by the exits. The food was great absolutely delicious and fresh.A great place to take the family out or just as an adult trip to a hidden gem.

Nestled away on the campus of the University of Birmingham, the Winterbourne House & Garden is a lovely half-day to a full-day out. Admission is free to staff and students at the university. The grounds are extensive and beautiful with plaques/signs to keep you informed. The house features exhibitions, objects and information about the site's history. There is a small café restaurant with vegan options available, with indoor and outdoor terrace dining options. The staff are knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. The gift shop has some lovely gems and there is also a large second-hand bookstore. Parking is rather limited. A lovely place to get away from the hustle & bustle and walk in nature.

Beautiful house and garden, an oasis in the city. The advertised demonstration in the print show was non existent. The cafe, however, seems to be trying to convert visitors to a vegan/gluten free diet, all sandwiches except ham on white" were vegan and nearly all cakes were gluten free. Less than 2% of the population follow a vegan lifestyle so why not cater for the 98% who aren't. I've been once so I have no need to go again."

A lovely place for a stroll around a beautiful garden with formal lawn, woodland trail and a covered wisteria walkway. Interesting display of original screws/dies/factory artefacts from the business that the 19th century family ran. Good food options in a well appointed cafe, ample parking.

Visited Winterbourne House and Garden as I was around the University of Birmingham area for a conference. Very friendly front desk staff. Nice place to wander and just enjoy the history and nature. There were people having a picnic on the lawn and reading under the shade of the trees.

Gorgeous house and wonderful gardens when in the rain! The house is full of history and a small but interesting art gallery with lots of insights into the family that once lived there. The gardens have several different sections with many beautiful and established trees and gorgeous flowers. The stepping stone pond was so pretty and such good fun to hop around, and the wetland walk was really lovely too. We were lucky enough to see the print works and get a lesson in how the old fashioned printing techniques are still being used today! Absolutely worth a visit if you're in the area. Oh and don't forget the afternoon tea it's fantastic and bring pocket money for the gift shop, you'll thank yourself!

Nice location, lovely gardens even at the end of the season. Lots of birds in the lake. Greenhouses are interresting. House is good. Early 1900 not many houses about representing that time. The restaurant serves good food, lovely cakes. I stayed longer here than I would normaly do. It is part of the university, so you will run into people from all over the globe. Not much parking spots, be aware.
