We visited on the 'Romans Return' day which was very busy - I would recommend getting there early and prebooking if there is an event on. My children enjoyed trying on the Roman helmets and shields. The small museum is very good as are the new display boards around the site.

A Substantial Roman Basilica and Bath complex has been unearthed for viewing which is only a tiny fraction of the ancient city of Wroxeter, one of the four richest cities in Roman Britain. Across the road is a rebuilt roman town house and one edge of the forum has been revealedVery well presented dig. Audio tour helps to further inform. Dogs allowed on leads.

Very interesting visit to this English heritage site. The scale of what size the whole roman city would have been is amazing. We were able to walk around with our dog and had an enjoyable visit.

Have visited Wroxeter before, but a new and very interesting museum has been added since our last visit. Lots of the ruins are visible and easily accessed, and the replica Roman villa is definitely worth a visit. I can recall watching modern day tradesmen building the villa as part of a TV series. They had to use methods of construction from Roman times. It is definitely worth a visit. It is an English Heritage site so if you are a member it is free. No cafe on site but tea and coffee etc are available and there is a large picnic area.

Staff rude. Very expensive but beautiful bit of history. Would be great experience for kids. If you don't want to pay to get in you can still see the ruins from the road.

Wanted to visit here since watching Rome Wasn't Built in a Day, when modern tradesman built a Roman Villa using ancient techniques. Great to see such ancient history in the original runs but would be fantastic if more was excavated as it apparently the size of Pompeii. The reconstructed villa was somewhat of a disappointment. The audio guides were useful but unfortunately the over enthusiastic volunteers in the museum were so loud I had to go outside to listen. Book online to save on entry fee. Bring a picnic as there was no cafe.

Fantastic day out to see The Romans Return to Wroxeter Roman City. Well organized event with plenty of parking. Staff were friendly and fantastic. Events were informative and fun. There was place to buy refreshments. I have never visited Wroxeter before but I was so surprised by the scale of the city and the visible ruins. A new small museum has been created filled with fantastic artefacts found on the site. I highly recommend a visit regardless of whether there is an event or not.

Got there at the same time as three or four school classes. Although there were many kids on the site the place is so big that it manages it. The staff is friendly and from what we could see it was really good to engage the school kids during the visit. The museum is good with a good space that has a lot of things to see. In the museum and on the site there is something special for kids to read and do. The reconstructed villa in one end is a good touch to the site. With a cafe this would have it all.

Really interesting place with major parts of the centre of the Roman City still visible, the info boards give you some idea of how ot would of looked and there is a reconstructed building giving you an idea of how Romans lived. It has the usual shop and toilets plus parking. We went on the return of the Romans event which does cost extra even for members but the living history group give a fantastic demonstrations of Roman civilian and military life. This is one of English Heitages top sites, has a small museum of finds from the area. All in all well worth visiting.
