Very similar experience to other reviewers. Despite agreeing to provide a quote, this didn’t materialise. Eventually sent hand written estimate which still didn’t provide a quote, but an hourly rate, including the time spent with me phoning up to enquire about the services. Basically you’ll be charged from the second you call this business! When I responded, with a quote from another business, to clarify my quote expectations, he quit! (Luckily based on other reviews). I was left having to source an alternative engineer with delays to the project. However it wasn’t over, weeks later he had the nerve to invoice me for the call out charge! I called Citizens Advice who advised I make an official complaint as limited companies are obliged to have this process, instead I just received a childish response. If I receive further correspondence from Rob Prattley, I will be filing a report with Trading Standards. I leave this review in the hope that others are saved from making a potentially catastrophic mistake.

We had a terrible experience working with Officium. From first contact it took him over 3 months to deliver his report.We had informed him of our requirements via email and in person. Despite this, his report involved knocking down a wall and digging up foundations that were contrary to our requirements.He also misinformed us about an important building regulation -the required width of a wall return. He claimed that we hadn't informed him about an issue but we'd emailed him a report about the matter during our initial correspondence. He didn't inform us that slates were unsuitable for our roof pitch, thankfully the replacement engineer did.He was the only engineer that wouldn't provide a fixed or even an estimated cost in advance. His cost proved to be the most expensive of all of the quotes that I received and it was almost twice the price of the replacement engineer.He's delayed our project by over 4 months leading to us missing our desired time to build and costing us thousands of pounds in building costs, due to the hikes in inflation.Officium is run by Rob Pratley. The only positive review here is given by someone with the surname Pratley.
