Just had my birthday meal here, had a lovely waitress with great service. Food was very nice and with offers always available from La Tasca app. Free bottle of cava which was also very nice

If you enjoy being ignored for an hour, eating tiny dishes made almost entirely of tinned tomato and vegetable oil, overbearing waiters, a hundred menus containing the same food in different orders, all in an empty restaurant environment, you'll love La Tasca. Otherwise, you're probably a normal person like me, and you'll leave wondering why you just paid £5 for each plate of 'tapas' which was bland and offensive to Spanish cuisine. Don't bother ordering bread either, as this won't ever materialise and you'll probably never see the waiter again, until they appear with the card machine ready to take your payment for a bill they have neglected to bring you.

La Tasca was almost a wonderful experience but a few factors made it fall short. First, the good: the range of gluten-free choices was nothing short of breathtaking. Kudos to La Tasca for clearly marking them on the menu and creating the gluten-free tapas selection, which I shared with my mother. With one exception, the tapas themselves ranged from good to excellent - we especially loved the slow-cooked pork cheeks with mashed potato. The chocolate toffee tart (amazed again it was gluten-free) was to die for. Also liked that they had a children's menu. Can't say my daughter loved it, but I think she was just being picky. The bad: surprisingly, the one really disappointing dish was the paella del dia. It was flavourless, lukewarm when it arrived, and tasted more like ketchup than saffron. Also, we seemed to inexplicably have two servers assigned to us, one of whom didn't even know what the paella del dia was. The worst thing, however, was that after my husband made the simple request to have extra hot water added to his liqueur coffee, because he found it too strong, his request was denied, on the grounds that was the way it was supposed to be. So what? It wasn't what he wanted and the fix would have been simple. In the end he didn't end up drinking it - a waste of 5 quid.Overall, we may well try it again, largely on the strength of the gluten-free menu, but we won't be having paella again and if we do have another negative experience like the liqueur coffee one, we won't give La Tasca a third try.

Took 5 staff and the cleaner to serve 2 glasses of wine! Time taken approximately 12 minutes.

Food was good, but service was terrible. After waiting 40 minutes for a dessert, we call the waiter and ask what was going on. He said it is coming now. So I asked, have you lost our order? He said: No no, it is coming now. After 15 minutes he comes back and tells us, the lost your ticket upstairs, it will come soon. After another 20 minutes, we call him up and he said that again. It finally arrived after 15 minutes, no apologizes nothing…Service is rubbish but the food is good…even though it is in small portion and a bit overpriced….the spanish omelette for example is really small, and that is just egg and potatoes...
