Although well made and substantial, unfortunately we just didn't get on with the mattress. Return to John Ryan was as painless as purchase and delivery, 100% brilliant. Fully refunded. As a result of their open and informative website, we decided to take the plunge and purchase an Artisan Luxury King size mattress from John Ryan online, complete with Artisan divan base. Their 60 night guarantee was crucial - we would never buy a bed without such a guarantee, whether online or from a shop.When the bed arrived, we could see and feel the quality of the craftsmanship. It was very comfortable, and well-made. We specified a zip-link split mattress, with a Soft feel recommended for my wife's side.After a few weeks it was evident that the Soft was very slightly too soft for my wife, and we decided that a zip-link was too narrow in a King size mattress (it is much better suited to Super Kings size). As a result, we reluctantly decided to return the mattress for a refund. Unfortunately, the policy allows either a refund or a swap, but once you have swapped a mattress you no longer get the 60 night guarantee, which I suppose they do to limit abuse of the policy.John Ryan made the return very easy for us. They were friendly and understanding on the phone, they allowed us to keep the mattress until our new one arrived from another company, and they collected the mattress at a convenient time, free-of-charge. I rate that as top-quality customer service, ranking with the best. We kept the divan because it was so smart and well made, so our new mattress went on that without a hitch.

I have never had such a great mattress as the Artisans Natural I purchased from John Ryan by Design 6 months ago. Best nights sleep ever, back problems have disappeared, and it feels like it will last for many more years than its predecessor. It is a true luxury, high-end product, one which has exceeded my expectations.I hesitated before making an online blind purchase of such an expensive item, but the professional, friendly and super-helpful (not to mention patient) staff reassured me and guided me to the best choice to suit weight, height, sleeping position, level of support preferred etc. The YouTube videos posted by this company were also extremely informative and helpful.In fact, I have been so impressed by this mattress that I have now bought a second one, and when need arises and funds permit I will buy more. I will never buy a mattress again from a High Street shop, in fact. You get a much better product, advice, and bang-for-buck here IMHO.Anyone (understandably) hesitating about buying a quality mattress online and unseen will hopefully be reassured by all this. My advice - take the plunge!

I’ve just bought my second mattress from these guys to replace one I bought from them back in 2008. Once again, the information and guidance on the website was second to none and really helped to influence my decision making process. The whole process from ordering, through to delivery was faultless! The new mattress arrived earlier than promised too. If you’re after a new bed or mattress, do yourself a favour and visit their website first. Even if you don’t buy from them, you’ll be better informed about buying the right product for you

I bought my King size Artisan naturals mattress a month ago.It's amazing.The mattress is so comfortable,I have gone from being up in the night with aches and pains to sleeping the whole night through.I was pretty much sure that I had bought the right mattress because I'd read everything on the website about other mattresses and the composition. So, I ordered and crossed my fingers.I need not have worried ,a lady called me from the company almost immediately to check with me that I had made the right purchase.The company also kept me in touch with lead times and the delivery drivers were on time, polite and helpful.

It should not be underestimated what a quality mattress can do for you. Looking at the different types of mattresses on offer was confusing, the price ranged from affordable to eye watering and the thought of buying online without being able to 'test' it was daunting. I then found John Ryan by Design and called them. A discussion about our sleeping habits, health needs and requirements led to a recommendation of the Origins Pocket 1500 Mattress King Size, Medium (1500 spring). Wow they got out our needs spot on. It was one of their cheaper mattresses, but the quality and comfort is outstanding. John Ryan recommends trying the mattress for a month before considering returning it. After just one night we made the decision, it was staying. It is extremely comfortable, feels luxurious and expensive and looks like it will last for a very long time. Their customer service, no quibble returns policy and quality products make it a no brainer

Absolutely brilliant service from ordering to delivery. So happy with the quality of the bed. The detail on the mattress shows just how well made this is.I’ve had the best nights sleep since it arrived.Storage is great as saves lots of space .I liked how the service felt bespoke to my individual sleeping needs and the suggested mattress really seems to be perfect for me .Only problem is, I now struggle to get out of bed in the mornings !

We bought our SuperKing zip and link mattress in February 2023. We are delighted with this beautiful, comfortable bedding solution. In October of the same year I noticed one of the zips had come away from the mattress.After contacting the firm informing them of this fault I was sent a completely new replacement mattress. No question asked. This is a service that I seldom find. Well done, all at John Ryan by Design.

I was searching online for a new mattresses, and came across John Ryan by Design, I liked that they took interest in getting the right mattress for you, and they are made to order at their own factory. So rather than go into lots of shops to try mattresses out, (never really been sure how you can tell if a mattress is ok by trying it out for a few minutes) we decided to order our next mattress from them. I took their mattress quiz to confirm which one would suit us and placed our order. A while later we received a phone call from them asking us a few questions to confirm that we had ordered the correct mattress to suit us. It arrived within 3 weeks and the two men delivering it put the mattress on the bed and took our old one away to be recycled (this was an extra cost, but you will find everyone charges for this). Our mattress is turntable, which we wanted and we are extremely pleased with it, sleeping better and have found it very comfortable. I would thoroughly recommend John Ryan by Design, and will certainly order from them again when other mattresses in the house need replacing.

I had a lovely lady helping me with my many questions and concerns over which mattress would be right for me - she was very patient and very helpful. A good few weeks in and I am loving my new mattress - in my case getting away from memory foam has made all the difference - this is a very solid, very well made matrress. I brought a discounted one and from what I can see it is absolutely perfect so I would say it is well worth considering that option to save some money.
