I purchased a made to measure suit here that has been worn four times in the past two years. The fitting service was polite and adequate. The suit quality and service since I'm not so happy with. The trouser seam has split. I emailed Gieves and Hawkes and they said to bring it in to the store and they'll fix it. I traveled 3 hours to get to their store to then be told they wouldn't touch it unless it's freshly dry cleaned first, which I had to do.I felt insulted as the suit had only been worn four times, was clean and still in the original suit protector it came in. Also, the email did not mention the suit would have to have been freshly dry cleaned.Picture is of the split seam. I took it on the 3 hour train ride home. What a wasted trip. This was not the quality or service I was expecting.

I have been committed to G&H for work suits for many years, not the cheapest but really high quality. Unfortunately when I visited in January this year the core range was only available in charcoal, apparently navy would be available in three months. I bought one charcoal and am still waiting for navy stock 6 months later and the latest advice is that there might be some in November. I find it completely ridiculous that a specialist suit supplier can be without stock of their staple range for at least 11 months. The store employee informed me that this is all due to change of ownership of the business. I’m not sure what the new owners plans are but reducing sales seems to be quite high on the list of priorities.

Had a suit made about a year ago. Really badly made. Went back many times to get them to put it right, but it was impossible. The suit is completely unwearable, and I’m having to chuck it out. I strongly recommend you spend your ££££ elsewhere

Went to investigate the Carreducker bespoke shoes. Superb, truly supurb shop and shoes. Shoemaking, the proper Brittish way, is a fine thing to behold. Add the perfect suit...just plain ole' sexy. Thanks for the look around!Visiting from Central California.

As a previous customer, I was frankly shocked to see the condition of our national flag when I walked past on Jubilee Thursday.Attention to detail G&H

My dad, girlfriend and I had a very pleasant visit at Gieves & Hawkes in December '23. Like many, our family has had a tough run in over the last two years -- pandemic, bereavements, illnesses, etc. We wanted to take my dad to Savile Row to get a new suit as a marker of a new chapter in his life. York, our sales associate, understood the brief and was so kind and patient with my dad as he explored his options, many of which were new" and pushed him a bit outside his usual choices. It was a brief visit

I’ve been shopping at G&H for around 5 years and now have 8 or 9 suits.I like their ready to wear suits quite a bit and their tailoring has always been high quality. However, recent experiences have been disappointing.I do not live in London but travel their fairly frequently. I dropped by G&H a couple of months ago prepared to buy 4-5 suits but was disappointed to find they had virtually nothing in my (common) size. As with other recent customers, I was told it was due their recent financial issues.I returned a few weeks later and was able to purchase 2 suits, 1 of which is a duplicate of one I own. I really liked a suit which was not available in my size. I told the salesman to please let me know if they received one.I came in a few weeks later to pick up the 2 suits I purchased on my last trip, which had been altered, only to discover they had my size in the suit I had inquired about! So, their suits get a “5” rating, as does their tailoring, but they get a “3” for their current availability and lack of service from their staff. Hope they return to their past glory.

Made to measure suit. Started in March having first gone in November, just managed to get it in time for my wedding in mid June! Told it would be 6 weeks then a further week to finalise - took over 3 months from the first fitting. Very stressful! The suit is fantastic, if you’re not on a deadline then it’s great. But the timings and the service are quite simply not up to scratch for the price tag. I don’t know if it’s due to the recent takeover but the tailors that have left haven’t been replaced.

Recently visited into G&H thinking of buying myself a double breasted suit. Perhaps naively, I expected to be greeted by fine gentlemen impeccably dressed and well mannered. And although it would be highly unfair of me to say that the sales staff weren’t well dressed (particularly, one or two of them), I certainly can’t say that I felt particularly welcome or well looked after (I should note that the store was empty, so no excuses of busy staff, etc.). I spent about 5 mins roaming the store by myself without any attention from the staff and simply walked disappointed.

Oh how the mighty have fallen.I came in to discuss bespoke options and get a feel for how their house cut works with my body type. I was immediately insulted and dismissed by the gentlemen behind the desk before I was passed off to a salesman who only wanted to sell me ready-to-wear. The jackets were fine on their own, but mine had some shoulder bite. The salesman actually said “oh they all have that. It’s fine” and just kept refusing to discuss bespoke or even MTM with me.I’ve given them ample opportunities to reach out and now that they’re posting about what they think is their bespoke experience on Instagram (and deleting my comments) I feel it’s best to post my experience here.On the upside, they made a great case for huntsman!
