Got back today from bank holiday weekend at this site and would recommend and will be returning! On arrival was greeted and had a chat with the owner (lovely approachable guy) and was shown an area that he thought would suit us to set up camp. He gave us the option to set up away from bigger groups that were arriving and warned us that it will be getting busier but that was not a problem to us. Noise was kept to a minimum even with children and dogs on site and we were not disturbed by any noise from any other groups everyone kept to themselves and were all having a well deserved break. The hog roast on the Saturday night was delicious and the food offered there was great too with bacon sandwiches and coffee every morning if wanted. Large communal area so could sit and eat the hog roast with a group or could return to pitch if would rather. The shower block was to be expected from a campsite used by several other people but was really good facilities available. Unfortunate that one of the showers was out of order but the owner was aware and did everything he could to fix it.

We have been going to the Nethergong main site for a number of years and love it. This year, unable to get a booking we were directed to the new site on the farm. Having read the blurb on the website (all the extras you have come to expect from Nethergong) we were a little surprised to find the site consisted of one field with a (perfectly nice) shower block and outdoor wash up area but very little else. This is all fine had the website wording and price (which is the same as the main site which has forest areas to explore, pond dipping , chickens to visit etc) not led us to expect a similar experience. We have camped on basic sites before and are more than happy to do so but would recommend the website wording is changed to make this clear as well as the pricing amended to reflect the basic nature of the site. We were also not informed that the Friday night chef would not be there during our visit as he was on holiday so were left to scramble something last minute.

We had a wonderful first day at Goldstone, beautiful basic site with a lovely open view and very peaceful.Sadly on our 2nd day a very large group arrived over 9 cars parked up in an unsightly manner making the field resemble a car park. There was possibly 40+ people in this group wedged between ourselves and another family group to the other side. Yet The whole opposite side of the site was empty ? The group had dogs that continously barked even through the night. The group showed no regard for anyone else allowing the dogs to bark unattended whilst they went for their food. They also allowed the children to run around screaming and shouting all evening. Climbing on the car roofs. At one point they had a laser display in the trees. The kids actually ran through our site in the dark which is so disrespectful. The parents had no clue. They had loud music playing which carried across the field. Very selfish behaviour which continued at 8am the next morning dogs yapping, music back on, kids screaming. Had the group been put away from smaller family groups it would have probably gone unnoticed. Sadly this totally ruined our stay and others we spoke to. We did text a number informing them of the nuisance but were ignored. The food available is a wonderful idea however the wagon is directly outside the toilets. It's very uncomfortable trying to toilet and freshen up whilst people are eating bacon rolls/dinner a stones throw away. At one point the que blocked the door to the toilets. The site is more expensive then others considering its such a basic site so taking all this into consideration I don't think we will be back and sadly I wouldn't recommend it compared to others in the area.Such a shame as it could be great.

We had a great time at Goldstone celebrating my birthday with friends. Lovely rural site where the kids could run free. Very relaxed and they could not not have done more to support us while there. Checking in to make sure everything was ok and helping folk with their air beds. Food was amazing, with all meat fresh from the farm butchers. The meal prepared on Friday was wonderful. Couldn’t recommend highly enough

Just returned back from an amazing bank holiday break,First greeted by Dave, the site manager, such an amazing person, constantly cleaning the site and distributing wood supplies to the fire pits at a moments call, always willing to help with anything. While we stayed their I witnessed him put a first time campers tent up, and when a tent flooded from bad weather over night he mopped their tent out for them.Next we meet Alice, whos recommendation on food should not be missed, possibly the best steak I have ever had, my only regret was I was to slow to get one of the home made pies and scotch eggs.Lastly we meet the kindest women, Kat, thank you for making our holiday so amazing, with your laughter and friendship, your expresso martinis and breakfast rolls for the morning after will not be forgotten. To all the team; thank you for going above and beyond to make our holiday special.Joe and Aimie

Great weekend at Goldstone. Nice facilities, cleanest toilets I have seen at a campsite. Lovely food/drink and nice large gazebo area to eat if it is raining. Very accommodating for children and dogs and large space for ball games. Would definitely recommend and return.

My Fiancée and myself stayed at Goldstone Camping for two nights during some lovely but rather windy weather. We arrived very late into the evening but was very pleasantly greeted by Dave who was very kind, informative and a brilliant host throughout the entire stay with great tips on the local area and further afield. We had some great coffees and delicious bacon and egg brioche rolls in the morning made by Kat at Goldstone Brew, which I'd very much recommend as well! Looking forward to coming back again!
