Went for a meal for 2 on Saturday 11th Nov at 6.45 very awkward atmosphere. The staff were more interested in socialising with each other at the bar being very loud. A member of staff tending to the fire was swearing loudly. There was only one other table occupied by customers and told kitchen was closed at 8pm. The chef was eating pizza at the bar. We had to leave table to go and ask a member of staff for bill. I have been coming to this pub for over 30 years and never had such a bad feeling.

We visited yesterday as a party of six (four adults and two children) and enjoyed a delicious, relaxed lunch in great surroundings.On arrival the greeting was warm and friendly and the service overall was excellent, it was our first visit but we will definitely come again

Just had a wonderful festive meal for 18 people, friends and children. The food all came out warm and tasty and the staff couldn't have been more welcoming and attentive, particularly Michelle. Highly recommended this cosy pub in both warm and cooler times of year.

Had the most amazing visit. The fire was lit in the main bar area which was cosy.The service from Costsl, Aaliyah & Chloe was flawless. Their knowledge of drinks and menu options were great. What an amazing find. Thank you all and look forward to visiting again soon.

The food was to usually high standard but due to being a bit quite the atmosphere was a bit lacking. The staff were very jolly. Only real disappointment was the fish and chips had sold out. Not surprising, we seen a couple of diners eating it as we arrived and looked amazing.

It was a long drive out into the countryside and we were most disappointed with the pub. Menu quite small and VERY expensive for a pub. Many of the items were not available and there was no suitable starter and only one main dish available for our veggie friend. Waiter was very indifferent when we pointed out we had two different menus. We decided not to stay and went to a different pub for our meal. Very disappointing! Certainly wouldn't bother going there again

Fantastic pub, good old building, nice location. Beer garden out front, fires inside in the winter. The staff are very personable and warm. I've eaten here several times and its been consistently goodIgnore old reviews, this place has changed hands and been refurbished, my wife and i first came here shortly after that in late 2022.Theres a walk down to the seven estuary i have been meaning to do which starts more or less at the pub, so you can really make a Sunday of it

Good food and drink , we had the roast beef , it was very good but the portion for £20 was very poor value , half a roasted carrot , quarter of a parsnip , 5 roast potato cubes and a tablespoon of cabbage , unfortunately won’t be returning.
