Bexhill Motors - Eastbourne
Slighly annoyed..I brought a car for 13,995 soon as i got it i noticed the issues, camber on one side, squeeling noise which turned out it was the rear diff, all 4 tyres cut in sidewalls, no maunal (i should of checked) makes me think co-part had it at some point, one key after being told there was 2 and the headlights pointing two totally different directions. One on the road. One up in the air. (That i sorted at my own cost) but i have no idea how the mot passed with no advisories.. there was a few other minor issues but that aside I spent quite a bit of time arranging the tyres and key to be sorted at bexhill motors cost. The noise which wasnt an easy fix i had to take the car in to be fixed. called and was told to bring it in on a set day, which i did. Was given a courtesy car. Luckily i checked it was the MOT was due to run out which i was not told. So i would of been driving it un MOTd.. i did appreciate the courtesy car even though the issues wernt my fault . 3-4 weeks later i get my car back, camber issue not fixed still quite visible, rear diff was leaking after a total rebuild of it and the car was whining whilst accelerting over about 30mph. Which again not bexhill motors fault but i felt like i was a hinderance and felt embarrassed to call or go in to be told it was fine. In the end i couldn't deal with feeling like i was stuck in eastbourne as i didnt want to run the miles up on the courtesy car i asked if i could pick another. To be told he would be picky which one i could get. Fair enough.. chose one i liked and agreed to get that instead. Car was cheaper so was due a refund. Day comes to collect it. All good happy with the car, but was deducted £1000 as apparently i de valued the car having it in my name. A few days/week later i saw the car go back up and SELL for the exact same price i paid.. so i didnt de value the car.. they didnt loose anything. Ive basically just paid to fix a car that was mine for a matter of 2 weeks.. anyway. Fast forward a month. Ive been noticing the car jerking over 50mph. No wheel weights.. paid quite a bit to get balancing and tracking done. Front discs should of been an advisory ive been told. And the rear pads ive needed replaced as ive been told they were low as should of been on the MOT. so ive spent about £200 on this so far.. luckily i did get it done as my steering nuts were hand tight.. which could of caused an accident. (I have a child and was on the motorway the day before) still need to sort the front discs.. cant afford to even do that now as ive lost so much money. The point is the stress and anxiety it caused is unbelievable. And on top of that ive lost all that money and theyve sold the car for exactly what i originally paid so i never really de valued it. Only reason ive not gone back to say anything is because i feel awkward and got upset every time i went in there as i felt like i was in the wrong.

I am changing my review . Yes Toby did help . But the issue was raised about the timing chain and thermostat, on a few occasions , only to keep being told it was fine . After diagnostic reports it was still not resolved . I was asked by the finance company to return the vehicle , as the works was not completed during the warranty time . And ample chances were given . Now I am left without and car . It’s affecting my work . I am at risk of loosing my job . As I can’t make it to work on time. Since owning the car it has cost me time and money . And still is costing me money . I don’t even have the car anymore . I feel let down massively by bexhill motors Eastbourne . Not Toby personally . Thanks .

I part exchanged my first car here for a van in the hopes of converting it into a little camper for roadtrips.Within the standard 3 months warranty, the battery completely failed - luckily they covered it for me. Within the first 6 months of owning it, I'd then had multiple warning lights come up showing a DPF issue. I paid £500 roundabouts to get this sorted as the results showed it immensely blocked and not in good shape. Then, not even 8 months in, the turbo also failed completely and cost me £800+ to fix which I'm still paying off. Toby himself told me it had had a brand new turbo fitted when I was looking at the vehicle so I had no reason to worry. After looking through invoices and tracing back to all of the garages it had been to, I found out that the turbo HAD been replaced.. but with faulty parts. The garage didn't want to replace a part they didn't provide and Bexhill Motors of course don't want to take liability for misinforming me about the state of the vehicle. From looking at the paperwork, it had a history of turbo issues.. but I was told it was brand-spanking new. Had I known the turbo was no-good, I'd not have bought it. And of course having not paid hundreds for an extended warranty, Toby and his team refuse any involvement. They offered fixing it at the same £800 price but offered no discounts, no compensation and they failed to call me back with any result looking into the issue, not even an apology. I get it, I do. It's not too much of your issue.. but I'd felt massively misinformed and spent so long converting the vehicle and I have spent thousands in repairs which just isn't normal. I think anyone would be upset by this.I ended up selling the vehicle last month and took a massive loss on the original price and outgoings for repairs and otherwise. Disappointed is an understatement.I understand every second-hand car has issues.. but thousands worth in 8 months is ridiculous and not anything anyone wants when putting their trust in a trusted company. | seriously think they should check the vehicles they take in far more thoroughly because it's now damaging their own brand. I felt completely de-moralised everytime I was spoken to and as if they knew better and tried to blame issues on me and not having extended warranty. Again, I understand, but not even a Sorry we should have checked better". Still to this day haven't received any kind of apology from them."

I would very highly recommend Bexhill motors (Eastbourne). After reaching out to Toby initially, he was welcoming and genuine.During our visit to look at the car, we were offered a test drive right away. We saw a few small issues with the car and the response we received was not expected. Every single thing that we picked up on was rectified and sorted (including a respray of a damaged area - paint work).Open and honest communication. No catches and full visibility.Even after we picked the car up, we noticed an issue with a wiper blade that we had all missed and even then, Toby has offered to reimburse the cost for one.I have bought a few cars, both new and used and I have NEVER received the service I have here.Well done to you both (Toby and Charlie).A real pleasure and it's a bit of a cliché saying it but we will definitely go back and use them again when the need arises. Thanks,Elliott & Leanne
