This is without a doubt one of the best, if not the best, place to learn stone sculpture in the UK. Portland stone is a lovely stone to work with and allows for very fine detail. I cannot recommend it enough. It is also a beautiful part of the country.

A working sculpting and stone carving workshop with a fantastic collection of Portland fossils on display. Frontline coffee shop at weekends. Friendly and welcoming.

The trust runs great courses and welcomes anyone and everyone to walk around the quarry, work shop and displays of very interesting artifacts such as a dinosaur footprint left in rock and massive ammonites and the print of water running over rock for millions of years. Very nice people willing to answer any questions and help you out. They also run frontline coffee (selling drinks to raise money for frontline workers I believe). They sometimes host talk events.

Such an inspiring team and a stunning location right in the heart of Portland Stone itself. The hospitality is aways warm and the enthusiasm infectious. The knowledge taught here wont let you sleep!Comfortable accommodation with workshops that put them in a class of their own with chest upon chest of historical tools alongside the latest in manual handling aids. You not only learn Portland stone, when you leave you know it!

It's a great little sculpture park. Free parking and free to walk around. A short walk to stunning views out to see and across Chesil beach. Good for young families and adults. Not for wheelchairs, but buggies could be pushed.

Excellent location, fantastic reuse of a stone quarry, I had the feel of a 70s Doctor Who set with added sculpture and magnificent views
