Gormac Construction did a fantastic job for us, we required a company that would conform to a high standard whilst keeping an eye on the price. Ewan and his guys did just that with our flat roof, removing leaking membrane and replacing with new rubber roofing ensuring all was watertight. They did an exceptional job of installing our Cedar cladding and did so in a timely manner. I would have no hesitation in recommending Gormac for anyone looking for a trustworthy, reliable company.

Gormac were recommended to me by Coogan architects. I had used Coogan before in another property so I trusted they would recommend some good options for me to do a renovation to my 1900 semi villa. My plans were drawn up and approved pre COVID but then COVID hit and like many things the renovation got delayed. Ewan has coordinated the following for me - they have installed double glazed windows, a slate roof and a new boiler which kept us cosy and dry as previously I had a leaking roof and a freezing house. They have now completed the main renovation to the downstairs of the house. With approved planning permission they knocked several walls down creating a more open plan to the back of the house. A tiny kitchen and impractical utility and coal cellar have been transformed into a modern well functioning kitchen with open views onto a dining and living area.. As it is an old property there were unexpected issues but I had been prepared for that by Ewan. . They are also now overseeing. 2 WC’s and a bathroom. I would recommend. Ewan and his team as I feel like he has held my hand through a stressful time and when I still couldn’t see the vision he gave me confidence it would all work out and it did. In addition as with any renovation job I have added multiple additions to the original job as some things only become apparent as it has been getting done. Ewan and Jo have done an amazing job of juggling all my requests I will be using Gormac again as I have multiple other rooms and other work to be done in the house. Ewan is also very good at keeping in touch and letting you know what will be happening and when including realistic timeline’s .

We employed Gormac Construction to construct a single level, rear extension to our home, following many months of obtaining quotes from other local contractors. Whilst some quotes were beyond our budget, most fell within what we were hoping to spend. However, Ewan was very patient with us, honest and as passionate about the project as we were, which was one of the main reasons we were pleased to proceed with Gormac...When works got underway Grant, Stephen and Jake-Blu were all fantastic, happy to talk us through every stage and, moreover, ensured we did not waiver when half our house was being demolished in preparation for the build.After we had moved out the boys just got on with things and made very quick progress week on week, to the extent that we estimated they were some 3-4 weeks ahead of schedule by the time the property was wind & watertight again.Grant was extremely helpful when some entirely unnecessary and unjustified disputes were being raised by neighbours, and was pivotal in coming up with some alterations to the build in order to satisfy certain demands being made by those neighbours.Like any project, some unexpected works became necessary and although increased costs became inevitable, Ewan was open and honest throughout, ensuring that we signed off on all additional costs before those works proceeded.In terms of the quality of work, we have been most impressed. We have been back home for approximately a month and we have no complaints whatsoever. The new room is exactly how I had imagined it to be when designing it with the Architect.I recently celebrated my 40th and loved having family and friends over to show off the new extension, with each and every one of them commenting on the build quality.As to the subbies employed by Gormac, all were equally as accommodating and very skilled in their respective fields. Special mention to Greg, the finishing Joiner, whose works installing our new kitchen continue to impress.As a Insurance Loss Adjuster I sadly see the negative side of many build projects, with defective workmanship and poor quality materials often the cause of substantial loss and grief for the customers involved. I'm therefore so relieved that we chose to go with Gormac Construction, whose communication and patience was as meaningful to me and my family as their skills and expertise in constructing what is a lovely addition to our home.Ewan, Grant and co, I'll miss the routine phone calls and visits to the 'site', but you can be reassured you'll be remembered by us all.Thanks again!Simon and family

After a lengthy period trying to find a contractor to rebuild our garage, in a busy domestic post Covid-19 world, Gormac’s interest and enthusiasm was very welcome. From the outset and through our build Ewan provided good communication and a detailed quote / scope of works. He was happy to review his quote and reduce his scope at our request when we were reviewing our spending. Once the work started, he co-ordinated the various activities and subcontractors well. Overall, I am happy with our new garage construction experience.

We decided to open up the basement to a more open plan layout of our Victorian semi. This meant walls coming down and lots of steel going in. Ewan and the team at Gormac were first class throughout.There were some hidden nasties once work was underway, but all dealt with quickly and great communication from the onsite team along the way.Project was completed on time and to a high finish. We were delighted and would not hesitate to call Ewan for future work.

Gormac construction have recently finished our single story extension and we are very pleased with the service they provided. When I first met the owner Ewan for a quote I was impressed with his enthusiasm and general positive attitude. The quote we were given subsequently was very detailed with each individual element of the build costed separately. This made it easy to see where the money was going and to budget for the upcoming payments during the build itself. Throughout the build everything was well managed with little or no delay between each phase meaning the project progressed well and was finished quicker than I would have expected. Communication was good throughout and any challenges they came across were quickly highlighted, discussed and overcome. Overall the experience from start to finish was very positive and we are happy with the final product.

Ewan and the Gormac team completed our single storey extension in the summer of 2021 to an excellent standard and competitive price. Ewan co-ordinated the work of all the trades to ensure that the project moved on. They coped with any challenges they faced - delivery issues etc - with a calm, 'can-do' attitude. I would not hesitate to recommend Gormac Construction.

Following requests for pricing from 3 separate builders, we chose Gormac Construction to do our Sunroom extension, based not on price, as there were little between them, but mainly on speed, availability and flexibility. We are delighted with the result and quality of their work and with the integration to the deck and bi-folding doors, we have a great extension to our home and have had fantastic use from it. I would highly recommend Gormac for any Building work that you are considering.

Gormac recently completed some interior alterations for us, converting separate kitchen and dining rooms into an open plan space. We were very happy with the standard of work and the level of communication from Ewan throughout. Would be happy to use again!
