Had a lovely lunch here with my son yesterday. Both had a cajun wrap with ample salad and chips. Beautifully cooked and tasty. Lovely clean pretty place with friendly polite staff. Thank you to all who served and cooked for us.

Called in for an impromptu Sunday morning breakfast with friends in December 2023. First time eating here.The place was clean and nicely laid out, and although quite busy there seemed a good amount of space between people and it wasn’t too loud.Waitresses were polite and we didn’t feel rushed at any point, if anything a tad more attention and responsiveness would have been nice - ordering a coffee took quite a while after we arrived, two finished plates were cleared but not the other two, the wait after requesting the bill took so long we had to get up and pay at the bar, etc. As it was four friends filling the time with chat this wasn’t too much of a problem.The menu offered a good choice and there were several things each of us would have had, but we all opted for the large breakfast. Portion sizes were good, ingredients were tasty, and it was well cooked. Seemed good value for money.Would recommend, and we would visit again.

We recently held our daughters christening reception at The Oak Bar&Bistro and we had a lovely day/evening, as did our guests. The staff were friendly and attentive, nothing was too much trouble.The kitchen staff appropriately met the dietary needs of each guest and the food was delicious!We are so happy with the service we received and we will definitely be going back.Thank you to all the staff who helped make this day so special!

Ordered a bacon sandwich and it came on granary instead of white. I said it was ok as it tasted lovely. The chef insisted on doing me another one although I was more than happy. He packed in a box and I’ll be using it tomorrow on my walk. Now that’s what I call service!

I did not get out servers' names, sorry. She was very attentive as we entered, allowing us to choose our table. The drinks were served quickly, and our food order was checked back, verifying our individual requirements.

Food seemed pretty nice, I would say the prices are a bit high for portions etc. other tables shouting across as they’re drinks left on side for while (small lady dark black hair). Doesn’t seem like much communication between immediate front of house staff. Never see a manager maybe that’s why? Could be a lovely restaurant too! What. Shame! Update me when they change owners! Hope it’s soon!

We went for a birthday meal 7 of us. We went and sat down at a slightly cramped but okay table. Staff came over after maybe 5-10 minutes for a drink order and then drinks arrived maybe 20 minutes later. The hot drinks were very full so had spilt onto saucer which made things a little messy when drinking but not the end of the world.Food order was taken 5-10 minutes later and food took approx 45 minutes to arrive (Avocado toast, pancakes, waffles, bacon butty, small breakfast, eggs Benedict and a breakfast roll). Food arrive in 3 waves in a 10 minute period. Food was decent. I ordered the 'avocado on sourdough' which I later heard the other waitress tell a customer isn't actually sourdough but they haven't changed the menu or said anything so bit disappointed. Ordered bacon and hash browns to accompany and were very good. Portion size of Avocado could he better.Overall, decent but definitely need to improve speed of service and maybe plan in advance your staffing requirements if you know you have a 'large' party coming in.

Sent 2 flat whites back as watery and weak, and Oak agreed to two replacements (which weren’t much better!). When paid, they charged for 4 coffees. When I questioned the manager, he says, they were made to your specifications and one of the coffees was nearly drunk!. Weak and watery! - Not my specifications, and why agree to replacements and then decide to charge? Finally issued refund and lost 3 customers. Good bye.
