I visited Bellanger for dinner with friends. The food was very tasty, each dish ordered exceeded expectation. I recommend the buttery mash side. The service was great. Great ambience.

All 5 stars plus for an incredibly good service and food, courtesy of my cousin we had a 3 course menu that was served well and tasted extremely good! The service was impeccable and nothing was too much, they came around regularly to see if we were ok and that's a fine touch. The ambiance is like that of a Parisian brasserie/cafe,The restroom matched the decor, the style and exquisite etiquette.Overall a lovely summer's treatWhen all around was dry weather and scorching heat.Kol-C, #thepoetreviewer

I recently dined at Bellanger in Angles, and it felt like a charming slice of Paris. The ambiance was just right, not too overwhelming or over-the-top. I was particularly impressed with their steak and grilled octopus, which were both delicious. The wine selection was also quite good, making it a pleasant dining experience.

Honestly, not great. We went there for brunch on Saturday. The servers sat us down and took 15 minutes to give us a menu, which she did with a brisk attitude. They brought out the food and one of the coffees, but the second coffee was brought 20 minutes after, by which point the brunch was over. The club sandwich was quite flavourless and the eggs Benedict tastes overwhelmingly of butter. In a city like London, with so many good restaurants, this place is just not it, especially considering the price

First time back since the refurb. Yes, the interior and food are slightly different but it looked great and the food and wine were excellent. Service was too notch too!Expect (Mediterranean) brasserie fare done well and excellent wine and cocktails.

The food is amazing. I ordered mushroom soup and chicken and sides. He chicken was huge, I didn’t expect that big:D Also there was a dj, and he was playing very nice and cool songs. After food, we had amazing hot chocolate muses. I recommend to everyone to have nice and fancy restaurants. And also, the loo is so cool! I had have some pictures of it.

This review is coming from 2 local Mediterraneans, since the menu is now “Mediterranean”. We normally come in 2-3 times a week, and feel it’s important to give our two cents. Overall, if the old Bellanger and new Bellanger were next door to each other, we think we would without a doubt go into the original Bellangers on a regular basis and maybe come to the new version every now and again, but we don’t have a choice. So we need to embrace the new Bellanger. One thing that has been amazing is seeing most of the original staff! Really lovely people, who make this restaurant what it is. Emily was our waitress and she was excellent and David helped us out the two times we were in this week as well, also excellent as well to see Pavel- always helpful, and friendly. Nice to see Adeline has stayed, she is always a delight to speak to!Slightly confused on revamping the whole restaurant and not fixing all the broken soap dispensers in the washrooms.Food:Focaccia- Sadly, was like a 3 day old dried out piece of bread. Not like my nonnas make it. Not enough oil. Also not sure why there was Parmesan on top. However, we think this may have been an off night.Flat bread- was more like a focaccia style, but it appeared fried and doughy and not like a typical flatbread- which is more like a piadina or Mexican tortilla.Chopped Chicken salad- First couple of bites I was confused and unsure, because their original chopped chicken salad was my favourite, but by the end of this new version of the salad I was impressed and would order again.Chicken paillard- Look, I really miss the chicken schnitzel and this is by no means a replacement, but this was excellent, succulent, and flavourful. I would definitely order again. I just would implore you to find a new way to recreate the salad on the side. Just leaves was a bit boring. It’s very bland and nothing special about the dressing. Again if going for a Mediterranean menu- why not come up with a creamy balsamic dressing or add cucumbers, radishes or tomatoes. The chicken schnitzel- there is a way to bring it to this new menu. There is a version of this dish, called the Cotoletta di pollo alla Milanese in Italy (without the lingonberry on the side).Prawn avocado cocktail- excellentSteak- comes sliced, and they put a sauce on it, curry butter. The steak was cooked to perfection but not having the choice of a sauce like peppercorn was really in poor choice. Look some things don’t need to be revamped. At least give people the option to order a traditional sauce- instead of being lumbered with a butter curry sauce. Also- if you’re trying to be Mediterranean- a lot of us eat steak with lemon, so if you’re going that route with this new menu than provide a piece of lemon. My partner just said he wouldn’t order it again for the price. Doesn’t feel value for money.Sides- very boring. We miss the creamed spinach, mash and side saladThe apple tart delicious & better than the original. We only ordered one because I wanted the Creme brûlée but that’s gone too.Brunch- eggs florentine & potato rosti have been taken off the menu but the eggs Benedict with bacon was amazing and prefer the bread they used!Decor/ambience:The sound is quite loud. Whoever did the acoustics really didn’t think this through. There’s no soft panels to absorb sound and no glass separations like there were originally and I think this is why it is so loud. Plus new speakers in the ceiling are everywhere. Music is a bit too loud for my liking. The DJ booth is clearly to bring in younger folks, but when looking around in the restaurant the two times we’ve been in this week- I see a much older crowd still. I would think jazz music or a jazz band would be the best choice personally.Original review: Absolutely love Bellanger! We are locals so we come at least once a week for breakfast, brunch or dinner. It’s always an amazing experience. The staff are friendly and accommodating and the food and drinks are always delicious. The place is decorated to a beautiful standard and has a lovely ambience.

Absolutely amazing place. Great French cuisine, which not only tastes amazing but also looks great. I definitely recommend escargot, as they were top. Fish lovers should definitely visit as well. Great choice of food and drinks. It's definitely a place to go when you are a fan of onion soup or crème Brûlée (which might be the best I have tried so far). That and a very nice service makes me definitely keen to come back after the refurbishment! Highly recommended.
