International Animal Rescue (IAR)

I have adopted an orangutan through IAR, they are an excellent and vital charity working on the frontline to protect some of the planet's must endangered and vulnerable species. Their recent JustGiving award is testament to their efforts. While work needs to be done to end deforestation, the work that IAR do to protect, treat and rehabilitate animals that suffer from the effects of deforestation gives some hope that these animals can one day be saved.

My friend is running in the Brighton marathon on April 2nd for IAR. Please wish him and all the other runners the very best for this wonderful charity .

This organization may very well do good work, however they did not email the person who I submitted a donation in their honor nor did they respond to my emails to them. I will not be using them again.

Amazing job they do to help orphaned orangutans and free and rehabilitate caged bears

This is a very trustworthy organisation that rescues and gives care to animals like orangutans, slow lorris, bears and others. They have a rehabilitation center in Borneo, where dozens of orphaned orangutans get all the care they need , until they can be released into their natural habitat again (protected areas!). This rehabilitation takes years and years and costs a lot of money, so you can support them financially by buying their beautiful book, Orangutan Rescue, which I did (and it's absolutely stunning!). You can also adopt one of the orangutans, mostly the babies. I adopted Budi. They send you a certificate and a photgraph, and every now and then you get an update by email, sometimes it even includes a video.

I have been supporting International Animal Rescue for at least 10 years. They do incredible work around the world and here in the UK. They worked hard with partners to wipe out dancing bears in India, are making huge inroads in stopping bear baiting with dogs in Pakistan and in Indonesia they are doing amazing work with orangutans and slow looses. Plus so much more. Simply amazing. Help them if you can.
