Lumber Lounge

I've been axe throwing before at Liverpool with no tuition and it wasn't enjoyable because the whole group barely got it in over 1 hour.However, at Lumber Lounge, our tutor James taught us straight away how the hold, aim and throw the axe - sounds obvious - but we all hit the target and it stuck in on the first go and we kept hitting the target throughout the hour slot and had a great time with trick shots and a little competition.We highly recommend Lumber lounge with it's free tuition and really friendly staff - we won't be going back to the place in Liverpool, but we definitely will be going back to Lumber Lounge in Carlisle and would recommend it for a great fun evening.Thanks James

Great fun. Was unsure what to expect as we'd been given vouchers for it as a gift, but we loved it. Something very different. Chap called James was patient , friendly and good fun. Would definitely do this again. (50s/60s)

We had a fantastic time, the instructors were very patient with our group who's ages were from 19 to 87. We all really enjoyed it!

Had never been axe-throwing before and wasn’t sure what to expect but thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The hour flew by with lots of laughing, good banter and guidance from James. Would definitely recommend it.

Really cool spot. Went for my birthday. Great idea kept simple and the lad working there was sound, funny and got us pumped for a competition. Kept us interested during the safety talks and also kept a close eye to make sure no one got hurt and was happy to teach everyone better techniques. We’ll be back.

Very friendly staff, fair price lots of fun!The toilet situation was a tad uncomfortable, but it couldn't be helped due to the nature of the building.A vending machine would be great, as there is no place to buy drinks and snacks in a 5 minute vicinity.Overall, I would recommend it to everyone.

Never done this before but once I got my confidence, it was a great experience! Highly recommend. Can't remember our instructors name (apologies as you were fab! ) he is the dog trainer! He explained everything so clearly and helped us all to have a great time! Thank you!

A unique experience that’s fun for all occasions…We were there as part of a stag do, there were around 15 of us in total, we split among the 3 bays (5 in each) and had a good amount of throws each.James was a fun and friendly host who had a bit of banter about him while he was showing us all the methods for throwing the axes.We had two games in our bays, I won both games in our bay which sent me to the semi final but I got beat in that round unfortunately - it was a really good laugh and I thoroughly enjoyed it.I’d recommend it to anyone looking to do something a bit different, whether it be for a party, stag do or just a fun date night.I’ll definitely be back with my partner, she says she’ll never do it because she’s terrified the axes will bounce back but I’m trying to talk her round haha!There’s plenty of on-street parking nearby but you can also park in the yard if there’s space (I think anyway, I parked in here and had no issues)
