COSMOS Community Observatory
What a fantastic facility! Built from community fundraising and grant money and operated on a volunteer basis; this observatory boasts two domed telescopes (one reflector and one refractor) for different magnifications and purposes. It also has some smaller tripod telescopes inside along with lots of educational material! We attended a Tuesday night open evening and would certainly recommend it! The two volunteers running the session were enthusiastic and friendly and provided us with some gorgeous photos of Scilly and the stars taken by local photographers.Anyone interested in astronomy should certainly make use of this facility and the dark skies of the islands! I hope this observatory gets all the love it deserves going forward :)

A good place in the middle of St Martin’s Island to have a rest. There is a gym, a room to see a doctor and library to read a book.
