Red Arrows Sculpture
A beautiful sculpture in memorial of the Red Arrows pilot Jon Egging, who was killed at the Bournemouth Air Festival display in 2011.It’s located at high cliff from where you can have beautiful views of Bournemouth beach. As I captured full super blue moon from there.

Great views can be had from the point, but more importantly a very fitting sculpture for a sad loss. It was good to view it in person. I can imagine in the sun it really shines and stands out.

Lovely views and a wonderful sculpture, just a shame the surroundings feel like a drug dealing haven.

Red Arrows Sculpture
It's very poignant because of its story. Just a pity that it's also a gathering place for the not so nice people. It did make a person uncomfortable.

We were in Bournemouth for the airshow and when we found out about the Red Arrows Memorial we had to go and have a look. It is on top of the cliff and was only 5 minutes walk from our hotel. We enjoyed going to see it and we also liked that there were boards explaining why it is there and it was sad reading about the pilot that died.

Set against a lovely seafront backdrop is this beautiful statue dedicated to Flt Lt Jon Egging, a Red Arrow pilot who tragically died when his Hawk T1 crashed after displaying at the Bournemouth Air Festival on 20 August 2011.The Council decided to run a competition for schoolchildren to send in designs for the memorial. The sculpture stands five metres high and is made up of three stainless steel contrails covered in red, white and blue glass discs with three glass Red Arrow jets soaring into the sky. The sculpture is accompanied by a memorial plaque which reads: Always follow your dreams. Blue skies."The Jon Egging Trust (JET) realises Jon’s dream of inspiring young people through his love of aviation

Nice memorial to Jon Liggins. A plaque on the wall and a nice sculpture depicting the 3 red arrows with red, white and blue smoke.
