I have been here three times to practice my Welsh conversation. Each time has been great - a friendly inviting atmosphere with lots of fun things to do and places to visit each time. The single rooms are very comfortable. Gwych!

My two weeks stay at Garth Newydd was one of the best experiences of my life. I’m an elderly Australian who has been learning Welsh online for a few years. The arranged activities at Garth Newydd encouraged Welsh conversations and friendships in the town as well as in the house. The accommodation is comfortable and the meals nutritious and tasty. I cherish the memories of learning in an encouraging environment, of fun, and of enriched friendships, that I have brought home with me.

Don't miss out on a special experience! If you want to:- have fun, practice speaking Welsh in a safe and supportive environment, make new friends, see beautiful Welsh countryside and buildings and experience Welsh culture etc. It was my first time at Garth Newydd and I loved it!

I've just returned from another great weekend at Garth Newydd in Llanbedr (Lampeter), this time with the theme of walking along the beautiful West Wales coast. Garth Newydd is a Welsh Language centre positioned in the heart of Welsh speaking Wales and aims to support learners develop confidence in using the language they have been learning in a friendly and safe environment. The whole weekend operates in Welsh with considerable opportunities to spend time talking and making friends with first language speakers. This is not a course but an opportunity to immerse yourself in the language. The weekends are themed. For example previous themes have included 'local wildlife' 'history ' and 'Arts'. If your keen on developing speaking skills a weekend at Garth Newydd would be helpful as well as very enjoyable. Book quickly as these weekends are very popular.

Garth Newydd is a great place and environment for Welsh Learners to immerse themselves in a friendly supportive and safe environment for practising to speak and listen/understand Welsh. It is clean and comfortable and on one of their organised weekends all of your food and (non-alcoholic) refreshments are included in the price (except on one day/evening everyone goes out to a pub and perhaps one lunchtime). Marcus is a fantastic host and with help from locals and Nia from SSiW he usually organises a great programme of activities to give you exposure to first language speakers in the wild. Don't be worried though about throwing yourself in. If you have reached Sylfaen level you will have enough Welsh to make it worthwhile, and I have been on weekends with people that have only just started Sylfaen and they really enjoyed it. Everyone is helpful and supportive because we are all on the same journey. I highly recommend doing this - it really will increase your confidence and you'll probably book again !!!

Thank you Marcus for another most enjoyable weekend. This is the third time I’ve been on a weekend with Garth Newydd. It’s a great opportunity to practise your Welsh with other learners and first language speakers in the community. Last weekend we walked some of the Ceredigion coastal path. The atmosphere was relaxed and inclusive. We spoke Welsh a lot, laughed a lot and ate a lot! What more could you want! Looking forward to the next one. So much fun!
