Really fun accommodation, definitely has made my uni experience amazing. All the staff have helped Hardman house feel like a safe and comfortable home away from home to the point I’ve spent my entire uni life living in the building. Everyone in the building is amazing to talk to and I always enjoy my time when I talk to them.Id like to thank Stef and the rest of the Hardman house team for everything he has done to help my process or moving in and continuing to assume my comfort and happiness in the building during my time.

I'm delighted I chose Hardman House for my accommodation in Liverpool; it has a great location (near the university and convenient stores), well-kept, clean and provides great service, especially from Michael and Kyle, who were both nice and helpful during my stay. They also deserve credit for their patience in answering my mum's queries about Covid-19 safety precautions and other concerns.Hardman House comes highly recommended by both my mum and myself as the best place to stay in Liverpool.Kudos to Hardman House's team!

the price it’s definitely not worth it, I had the smallest room in the flat and was paying the same as my flatmate who had a room twice the size. There was constant construction which had gotten unbearable towards the end of the year. Our flat never got a toaster despite contacting them so we ended up buying our own. Two of my flatmates radiators broke, shelves broke and our freezer was the worst over freezing all the time (probably because of a leak) which we made many complaints about and they did nothing about it. Don’t even get me started on the wifi, it was especially bad on the first floor which was our floor but in general, the wifi wasn’t great around the building. Also worth mentioning a lot of the flats furniture had scratches all over them. The bathroom was a wet room which was somewhat annoying as it would leak into the bedroom. Although the place does look nice at the price their charging things like this really shouldn’t have been an issue.

To be honest, Urban Sleep Hardman House made an awful first impression on me, as an international student recently arrived from the USA. The pictures of their studio apartments online do not give an accurate depiction of the true size of those apartments. The pre-cleaning by the staff was terrible both on flat surfaces (water marks, extreme dust, gunk/mold) and in appliances (e.g., rust inside of kettle). My hob (cooktop) was marred by a large crack, which makes it unsafe, and the first employee I spoke to was rather lackadaisical about the issue and how to get it fixed, but when I spoke to Mike (the EXTREMELY helpful manager) the next day, he was horrified by the damage and got the ball rolling extremely quickly to get it replaced. Also, unless the goal is to welcome new students into a veritable oven, don't leave the window shut and the blinds up, especially when you do not have AC or (as in the USA) a circulating fan.Hardman House really needs to add some sort of written instructions to their welcome packet on how to use the heater, shower, induction hob, etc., especially for international students, as the controls were, at least for me, totally foreign to anything I had ever seen in the USA. It takes employees away from their other necessary tasks to have to ask them repeatedly to come show me how to work things. Hardman House also needs to allow more time on their arrival inventory checklist, as when you're busy with moving in, unpacking, and getting settled, there is not time to check that all of things on the checklist are present and/or working in the time they allow.Downsides:The internet is overly complicated for set-up and unsecured, which is extremely unideal, especially if you need to deal with online banking and such. The internet also doesn't work in the lobby. UPDATE: The internet is often flaky in the flats, as well.Poor design choices -- Doors that slam shut so loudly that they could wake the dead; bathroom sinks where you cannot run a strong stream of water without splattering water everywhere. The laundry room is somewhat separated from the rest of the basement, which is not ideal for safety of those in there. UPDATE: The internet also doesn't work in the laundry room, and 4G data is almost non-existent.Countertop space and number of outlets in the kitchen are extremely small. There are no electrical outlets in the bathroom.UPDATE: The construction of the bathroom and the lack of a shower door and of a barrier that goes all the way to the floor means that water can go everywhere when you take a shower.UPDATE #2: Multiple of the washers and dryers are often out of order, and there are only six of each for the entire building in the first place.Good luck trying to get even urgent help from maintenance on a weekend. The fire alarms have gone off so frequently since I moved in in September because of system faults or people messing with their smoke alarms trying to smoke/vape inside (which is against the rules) that no one takes them seriously anymore. It's a classic case of the boy who cried wolf, and multiple residents including me agree that if we ever have an actual fire, it's not going to end well.UpsidesHardman House is closely located to the University of Liverpool's campus and many restaurants/shops. UPDATE: It is an easy 10-15 minute walk to campus and to Liverpool One.Building security is good. The front desk is able to accept packages, which is extremely helpful, especially as you're getting settled and need more deliveries.Mike, the very helpful managerUPDATE: Communication between the staff and tenants is improving markedly. This review was first posted in September 2022 and updated in December 2022 and again in March 2023.

As a disabled student, this accommodation made my first year university experience a breeze. Mike and Kyle on reception created a very accommodating atmosphere and assisted me with carrying parcels or shopping when I was struggling. They would also offer any assistance, without hesitation, within the flats if I did not know how to use an appliance. The reception staff seem understanding that moving to university can be daunting, so they try their best to support you, even if that's just a conversation. I will be living here next academic year too!

It’s very different from the last year I lived here. One of the elevator has been broken for a long time. Our flat’s television was broken when I firstly moved to the room I am living in. The laundry machine was broken many times and so on. I can say it’s my worst decision to live here for one more year.

This place is awful. We were told we could keep our things in our rooms over summer because we live far away and are planning to stay in the same rooms next year. Now, a few days before key return, we have been told we have to go and clear out our things for summer and then pay for a storage fee on top of all the money it will cost us for the travel of the trains since we don't live in the same country. Not to mention the lifts are always broken, rats in the bin storage and only 6 washing machines between the whole accommodation. For 7k a year, this is ridiculous. Don't waste your money. I regret signing up to stay here another year.

I have stayed in this accommodation for the past two years and I can happily say I do not regret it. The staff have made my experience here amazing, all of whom are so friendly and approachable. If I had any questions or problems during my stay they were quick to answer and resolve these. Out of all the student accommodations in Liverpool I can happily say that this particular accommodation is by far the best. Thank-you for making these last two years as great as they could be. For any future or current student that is looking for accommodation, I could not recommend this accommodation enough.
