Played golf for the last 20 years with a group of friends, play 2-3 x a week as visitors in Oxfordshire and Bucks and recently ( last 4 month) started playing AV.Amazing course, just can't fault it, greens, tee's , fairways , bunkers all in great condition but it's the small things they get right that other courses fail on, friendly staff, club house great, food, pro shop, descriptions of the hole your playing, benches , bins, bin for broken tees , ball wash with water in it, ..... etc... they have just got it right... well done AVGC

Visited with a group. Enjoyed the day on the whole but was surprised at how wet the course was and that the bunkers were still in play . Some were full of water and the one I went in can't have been raked for a long time as there were numerous human and animal footprints. Ball was embedded up just under lip. Food plentiful and staff friendly. No lockers for visitors so a hike back to car with handbag.

AVOID AT ALL COSTSMy visit to this venue was deeply disappointing to enquire about a birthday celebration in the function room. Despite notifying them in advance that I would be arriving to view the venue, the head staff member displayed shocking rudeness when I inquired about booking a function room for a birthday party. Rather than offering assistance, he incorrectly assumed we were travelers and condescendingly lectured me on business fundamentals while discussing BYOB. The overall attitude conveyed a strong sense of unwelcomeness for non-members. I highly recommend steering clear of this place.More details-The old male staff member who wore glasses and who had white hair was very rude to me and my parents which is completely unacceptable behaviour in this day and age. I had to walk out of the place due to rudeness displayed by such a senior staff member

A friend and I came here for an early tee off on a Sunday. The gents in the shop were very friendly and informative as we had never played the course before. The course was lovely to play on and very well kept.

I played Aylesbury Vale golf course today, (04/08/23), as a visitor. We received a very warm welcome in the shop. The course was in outstanding condition. The fairways were clearly defined. Bunker (yes visited a few) were very well maintained. The greens were true and putting was a pleasure.I’ve played other courses that hold greater status, but couldn’t hold a candle this course.Well done to the green keepers.I look forward to my return.Steve

Always a good time, nice diversity but quite flat on the front 9. Beautiful back 9 and a great driving range with real turf hitting area. Added bonus is the normal golf balls you get for the range, you’ll only find the occasional range ball.

I played Aylesbury Vale in the middle of the 2022 drought, and shortly after work on the greens too, so I probably didn't see it at its best. What I did see was pretty decent though. The fairways were just about holding up to the dry weather, the greens were quick, and the course is a really pleasant place to play. The course is a little longer than most, but the counter balance to that is that the fairways are very generous on most holes. There's water on a couple of holes, and a fair number of bunkers, but play a semi-decent game and you should score well. I can see this being a popular course for all standards of golfer. The members I spoke to were pleasant, as was the guy in the pro shop. You pretty much can't go wrong if you decide on a round here.
