Porthleven Boat Trips

We went fishing for a 2 hour slot. We all caught at least one fish.Matt the skipper on the boat was great. Very helpful for those who had not fished before. He was perfect and was nice to have an experienced but gentle and friendly guy who was in charge of the trip. It was the highlight of the trip to Cornwall.

A really enjoyable fishing trip onboard the Poseidon this morning. We had lovely weather and lots of whiting caught. We then had mackerel on the hooks and a pollock at the end. Thank you to George & Matt for all the help. I’m looking forward to a homemade whiting & mandarin curry tonight!!

Great 3 hours out on the boat with Matt our host for the day. Really friendly skipper, very attentive whilst also being very very patient to newbies like myself. I would totally recommended taking the time to go out with Matt and his boat. Well worth the money paid and was given all opportunity to keep what I had caught however what I caught was too big keep in my fridge/freezer! Lots of fun will be returning. Thanks Matt

Fantastic day out! Went fishing for the first time - both Matt and George were great and very patient! Another highlight was that we also saw a pod of dolphin Avery close to our boat. Thanks for a great afternoon. Would highly recommend.

We had great time on this trip, our skipper Matt was very helpful as we were total newbies to fishing. He gave us good instruction on how to use the fishing rods and as a group we caught lots of mackerel and a huge pollock. We stopped a 3/4 different areas near an underwater reef, the young ones even had turns steering the boat. The skipper was kind enough to share some his personal caycj or crab. All in we had great time and would highly recommend this trip to all.

We went on the evening boat cruise with Matt and George - what a fantastic experience! They were both so friendly and enthusiastic, the views of the coastline were stunning as the sun set and we saw dolphins swimming right next to the boat! It was so memorable and I would strongly recommend booking a trip if you are near the area - it made our holiday!

Wow, what a great trip! Matt and George were so good with our 2 younger kids - they really made them feel comfortable on the boat. Mind you, all the fish helped, too! We were pulling loads out - mackerel and a couple of pollock to boot - so it was grilled, fresh, line caught fish for dinner, which was wonderful. The boat was clean, plenty of rods and both George and Matt worked tirelessly to keep everyone fishing - removing caught fish and untangling lines, all with great humour. Without question a highlight of the holiday so far - thank you both. Cannot recommend highly enough.

A really wonderful evening trip on Matt’s boat. The coastline was so atmospheric as the clouds broke and the sun poured through in bands of evening light. His young mate, George, was an informative guide and added to the good humour of the trip. The cruise would have been really enjoyable without the dolphins, but their sighting made it all thrilling and memorable. Matt circled the boat for twenty minutes giving us a fantastic experience of the dolphins.Not to be missed if you are on holiday in this area.

I cannot rate Matt highly enough - I'd give 10 stars if I could.From an easy remote email chartering of Poseidon for my partners 40th birthday, making sure she was decorated beautifully with some dec's I had delivered as well as having the champagne I also had delivered perfectly chilled and on ice for our arrival... From the moment we boarded everything was extra special and the whole 3 hours we had flew by we had such a great time out at sea.Matt went above and beyond from the word go and was super friendly, knowledgeable and just great to be around... If you are thinking of a trip with Matt on Poseidon stop thinking and do it, you'll not regret it.Matt, from both of us thank you for making his birthday so special.
