St Mellons Country Club

We attended a wedding and the whole wedding was lovely. The food, entertainment and venue rooms for this were beautiful.We had the family room (which accommodated 3 people) to stay in as it was the only room left for that night, room 29. The room was strange. For the price of what it would usually be it was shocking. Every floorboard creeked and the bathroom floor was very uneven.Looked like the room was in the middle of being taken apart. The bed was awful we had to sleep upside down because it was on an angle and the pillow end felt like you were falling down. The walls were bare with stains and screws where things have previously been hung, stains were also on the ceiling.The carpet was worn badly in places. No lights worked on the entrance to the room. One window needed a coat hanger to jam it open because it kept sliding down, and rather violently at that.The mixer in the bath was leaking constantly leaving a stain down the bath. The bath itself was black around the seals and falling apart.We had such a lovely time and didnt feel it was the best of times to complain and possibly spoil a lovely event.Breakfast was lovely and the waiters were accommodating despite being clearly very busy, it was clearly understaffed. But the staff themselves were lovely and couldnt do enough, so big up to the staff!I know this isn't just a recent thing either as refurbishment" has been going on for quite some time and I've read the reviews.Im saddened that people have to pay the same prices and some get a lovely new room and others get what resembles a shared bedroom is a doss house. Really sorry to be writing this review but the pictures show points I've spoken about."

There are no words to explain how thankful we are for everything you did for us on the build up to our wedding day and from the moment we said yes to your beautiful reception venue, Hollie constantly went above and beyond for us. We honestly had the best day and without your reassurance and dedication to us we wouldn’t have been able to do it. You have been so accommodating throughout the entire year and we hugely appreciate it. You have such an amazing team there at st mellons country club. Lovely hotel , Henry webbs restaurant was delicious ! Stunning food will definitely return .

Rooms were nice and spacious. As were the dinner plates. Food quality was poor to say the least, and portions were laughable. Breakfast was even worse. Horrific WiFi connection. All in all, a place to avoid for any work-related trip. Place looks nice enough for visiting, though.

We got married in October 2022 and had an absolutely fantastic day, far surpassed what we could have hoped. The venue provides beautiful photos, is well versed in the goings of the day and the opportunity to get ready on site.If I were able to do it all over again, I’d still pick the country club and Hollie!

If you're looking for a wedding venue this place is perfect. After spending time with the owner today I can honestly say that this man would make sure personally that you have a perfect day.

Nice gym with swimming pool, sauna, and steam room. Coffee lounge and plenty of parking. Situated in a nice area with the hotel on one side and golf course on the other side. 2 squash courts.

This hotel has a lovely old feel to it. Staff are very nice and helpful. Good facilities with a country feel.

This was my go to hotel when I stayed in cardiff. The rooms were lovely and the food was great. Lovely gardens too!
