I was rather dreading having to attend Stockport Job Centre for the first time in many years, but I found the staff polite and helpful. The lady with whom I had an interview was particularly personable, respectful and informative; I appreciated it.

Call me a shill but I don't understand the bad reviews about this place other than the building one, being not too nice to look at on the outside (Interior is quite /comfy/ tbh) and two, easily taking the name of Heron House" and making it into "Heroin House" otherwise there aren't too many complaints I have. But let it be clear what this place does do is set you up with a plan and the tools to get you a job as long as you are willing to do the rest yourself making use of the tools they have given you (very give a man a fish vs teach a man to fish method)This tools are a Job Advisor

Mostly friendly staff. Often in and out in a matter of minutes. They don't bother too much with people like me who are behaving themselves.

Some of the staff can be great while most other's are down right sadistic in their practice. They condescend by naming you as Customer" - a term usually implying that purchase something when in fact they are the ones that are meant to give you money. They look and speak to you like scum - less that the dirt on that which lines the front door. You miss an appointment or are late you are sentenced to "debt" with no appeal. Ever since those days I have sworn never to be beholden to them ever again as long as I breathe. I'd rather take my chances at Piccadilly Gardens..."

I just want help finding a jobI'm no longer entitled to pay-outs due to personal circumstances which is fine, however they refuse to help me find work because I'm no longer entitled to payouts. they refuse to offer/share resources or even speak to me about work. Its not about the money, I just want help finding a good job. It's disgusting that you turn away somebody who wants help looking for work. someone who isn't expecting money from you just advice and resources.Words can't express what a let down the job" center is"
