Midhire Vehicle Rentals

Be very careful. Returned a van and was told that I was responsible for a scratch on a door that wasn't even visible to me. Midhire have now taken £400.00 from my account and will not respond to my objection.

I rented a van for the weekend and everything was perfect. Great value for money. Staff were very polite and professional. I let them quote on servicing my car and they beat the quote I had. I'll definitely come back

Had some tyres fitted there but I won't be retruning. I wouldn't recommend them as it was very expensive (not the price listed online), incredibly slow (1hr 20mins for 2 tyres), they pretended the tyres were delivered late (dpd tracking says otherwise) and the reception staff were the opposite of friendly.Overall a very poor experience.

I hired their automatic, long wheel-based vans and what a joy it was to drive as it was clean, inexpensive and up to the hilt with mod-cons.The service was also very good and most considerate despite my being delayed on the the motorway. Both the guys who served me were courteous and kind. They explained things clearly and patiently which I very much appreciated.

Staff were friendly and efficient and the vehicle was good. HOWEVER, be warned you have an excess of £600 which they will use for things that are entirely not your fault. I was hit by a loose stone travelling (slowly) down the M5. This chipped the windscreen. There is not a thing I could do about it, but their insurance does NOT cover you. Windscreens on minibuses are extraordinarily expensive so I was charged nearly £500. There is no option to take out additional insurance and they don't make it clear what the excess is to cover before you arrive to take out the hire. By that time you are committed. Even then they don't make it very clear. If it had been a mistake or carelessness on my behalf then I would have been annoyed but have accepted the situation. However, to find on my return that they expected me to pay for this on a total hire cost of less than £300 was beyond belief. When challenged they say it would be too expensive to cover. Other hirers offer CDW which covers your windscreen and tires so I would recommend finding someone else who doesn't expose you to such risk.

We had a great experience with Midhire. Easy to book on the phone and easy to collect the vehicle: clean, new Ford Transit with a high roof. Perfect for transporting big pieces of furniture. We'll use this company again if we need to hire a car or van in future.

Excellent service - really easy to book and pick up. Van was in great condition (almost brand new!) and handing it in again afterwards was very quick.

Hired a transit van for a week. Immaculate condition. Almost brand new. 4k miles on the clock when I picked up. All mod cons Including reversing cameras; very useful as someone who is not used to driving vans. Not the cheapest, but I will be using this company again as you get good service, quality vehicles and you can return on a Saturday; not all companies offer this.
