Ellough Park Kart Circuit

Partner and his friend attended the Grand Prix event last night 25/9/23, and have been many times over the last few months, it was perfect weather and new karts .. but then it all went very downhill ... never seen such bad management in all the times we have been ... they say no bumping ... well the person bumping from behind didn't get flagged the person being bumped got the flag and this is obviously because its one of their mates, my other half was bumped multiple times so hard he jolted his neck, NOTHING was done and he got flagged! Too much favouritism, and obviously bullying from certain other drivers , the rules and the marshalling needs a serious looking at, and they don't care! Well 2 customers lost we will not recommend this circuit, which is sad because they did enjoy it and spent ALOT of money over these last few months, it's not Formula 1 and there is no prize money but certain other drivers seem to think it is !

I came in a group of 18 people 37 all together we was split into 2 groups with 1 x 5 min practice 5 x 10m heats and 2 x 15m finalsKarts ware great people ware lovey even with covid restrictions everyone had fun and you get a little trophy if you’re a winner highly recommend

Spent a great day there watching my niece race on Saturday and I am proud to say she took 1st place on Sunday.

Let’s be clear, the 1 star is for the dog they have on site. I cant even grade the rest of the place. Wasn’t racing but was there for a championship race day with Buckmore, and after being to a good few of these now, the set up at Ellough was just insane levels of nonsense. My first issue as a viewer was being told there’s no online timing system and that we have to go to reception to see lap times, later to find out this is a lie and there is a timing site…? What was the point in that?Track seemed like a lot of fun to drive on but that’s if you can get on it, with a decent kart. If you didn’t have any of the 2/3 top karts there was no real point in trying to compete (consistently there would be a 30 second gap between race leaders and the rest of the pack, not taking anything away from the drivers but that’s nothing to do with skill or talent, there’s a clear advantage on the karts.) Every race had at least 4 or 5 people in the pits complaining about their karts, I know karts struggle but EVERY RACE? That’s outrageous. The race director (I guess that’s who he was) wasn’t exactly communicative, their grid lineup system was actually shocking it took in excess of 30 minutes just to get karts on the grid in their positions, it took another 20 or so just to TELL drivers which kart they were in!!!! How can 4 30-min races take over 8 hours to complete?? Did the director quit half way through? Did they just decide it wasn’t worth their time? People paid for this privilege of having a good 3 hours of their time wasted, recycling karts they knew weren’t up to standard, and seemingly just scrapping any racing standards as the problems started flowing. It must be difficult putting something like this together and making sure it runs smoothly but the EP staff definitely made a BIG meal of it.

Took my son who is 10 along with a friend of the same age for their first time as a birthday treat. The setup is professional and starts with them selecting a racing coverall and helmet, we had to buy each a pair of gloves and balaclava which they got to take home and served as a nice memento. Then onto the safety briefing which included a video presentation. Then onto the track by which time they were quite nervous! After a few laps they soon settled into it and had a great time. I paid for two sessions each which I was pleased with. The first session was very much a case of getting used to the kart and track, whereas the second session was much more enjoyable. A great day out and will go again for sure!

Great circuit. The cars need a good tune as some were not running right and kept cutting out. But the worse thing about the day was having a hour briefing before racing, I know they have to cover safety but an hour is far too long.

Never been go-karting before but this was excellent. My son who is more experienced thought it was the best he's been to.

My son went to the kids club which was a really dissappointing experience for him, they kept swapping the karts as some are much slower than others to try and make it fair. It is not fair though if you have the slower kart in the final race as you always end up last. Was told that this was the in the briefing and that we should expect that there is a big difference in the karts and that this is part of what should be expected if you turn up. My son in tears over having a terrible kart tells you that it simply does not work. Will not go back until the karts are replaced
