Garden Machinery Direct

Ordered some ear defenders. Waited two working days and still not even despatched and put in the post. Called customer services to be told by a condescending rude lady that I need to wait longer and that I should have paid for express delivery if I wanted them sooner. Even though I’ve paid for Royal Mail 24h. Rude, lazy and slow! Will order elsewhere in future.

I can only echo what other reviewers have said, superb company to deal with. Helpful, knowledgeable and friendly customer service, quick delivery and they pre check lawn mowers before sending out. Price was good and the Honda mower cuts beautifully, a fantastic product.EDITA few weeks after I bought the mower, there was an issue with it and Garden Machinery Direct were not that helpful and as I recall said the issue wasn't covered by the warranty. Fortunately my local Honda dealer replaced the carburetor for free. I should have bought it from them in the first place and I will always buy local for this kind of purchase from now on as if you have to return something like this then it is difficult.

Great prices but customer service horrendous bought garden blower failed after 10 days asked to be replaced or refund. Got run around for over 6 months and then paid postage only to be informed that I have to pay for half the repairs!!. Sorry to say Go to Amazon you many pay slightly more but customer service million times better.

Hassle free. New battery mower and scarifier shown as in stock. Price was good, so ordered. No problem at all. Good feedback on the order and arrived as indicated a few days after the order. My lawn is very happy too!

We have a local Honda lawnmower centre only a couple of miles away but their prices were 10% more expensive so I thought I'd try mail-order". When the mower arrived the stop/start bar was bent. I phoned them

This is the first Google review I have left. I run an online business so know only too well how difficult it is at this horrid time. However, I do not appreciate any company who take money for goods they do not have in stock. They promise to have a shipment and when they don’t receive it (also understandable), they fail to communicate. I have now been waiting nearly a month and have not heard back from Garden Machinery Direct even though I have emailed a further 2 times. I hate leaving a bad review but they need one so they can change the way they run. I work 16 hours a day and always try and keep my customers informed. Don’t sell stock you haven’t got! If I walk in my local supermarket and get to the checkout and pay for my items, I do not expect to not walk out with them. Terrible service. I so hope they can rectify this and I will be more than happy to update my review.

This is a 'holding review' based on an order I placed on 31st May. I received a despatch confirmation on 9th June and after waiting a week for it to arrive I've had nothing. I've contacted you twice now for an update but I've not even had an acknowledgement. I know the world is crazy at the moment and that you've taken on more staff to cope but you need to sort this out and fast.To be blunt I'm not interested in a reply on here as you'd do better spending your time replying to emails from customers in a similar position to me. If the order arrives within the next 2-3 days I will consider changing this review, however, the one star rating is reflective on your failure to deliver and your unsatisfactory customer care.

Great company to buy from, quickly rectifying problems.A member of the team confirmed my purchase would qualify for a free EGO battery worth £99, I went ahead and made the online purchase.When I received my items the free battery was missing. I emailed to ask where it was. Steffan Drinkwater from GMD phoned me next day apologising for an email they had sent out saying 'sorry your purchase didn't qualify', I hadn't seen the email.My purchased hadn't qualified, but because they had made the error telling me it would they dispatched the battery.The items purchased were a competitively priced, with excellent customer service. Will buy from them again.

[Midst of Covid 19 crisis - mid-May 2020] My experience with this company has been fantastic! I really wanted to start mowing again (for mental health/therapy), & was hankering after a particular Honda model. On many other sites one couldn't fully trust/believe the stock status - but mine was in stock with GMD, & at a fantastic price, to boot! Delivery was spot-on, exactly as promised, & comm's by e-mail were excellent - I knew to expect it on the Monday morning, & that's exactly when it came. Five stars from me, on all counts - & thank you for saving the day, & indeed my months ahead!

First time using company, cant flaw the service and price, first class communications during the whole process, item arrived on time. Will certainly use them in the future.
