Disgraceful, I visited with my family 3/11 we had 2 crispy chicken burgers, 2 hot Carvery baps and chips, 3 small diet colas and a bottle of water - £59.10!!! I thought that was bad then the food turned up, piled onto tiny plates, no garnish and everything was Luke warm. The carvery consisted of two thinner than thin slices of meat, not sure what it was think it was beef, my Mums came, just an empty bread bun!!! Everything was laughable apart from the price. Please don’t waste your money, there is a Wetherspoons just up the road!!!

Never seen the café so busy!Had a vegetable soup. Very disappointing; watery and lacking flavour. Made me think of soup that, rightly or wrongly, is seen to be served up in institutions. Followed up with a scone. Very large, but too crumbly and not keen on the vanilla flavour within. Needed more jam than the one packet. The latte was fine. Service was good and a pleasant buzz about the place. I would stick to a toasted tea cake in future (sold out on this day)!

The food has gone downhill since the recent refurb, whereas the prices have risen significantly and you can only get sandwiches after 2:30pm. The self service hot drinks were terrible... Two hot drinks from a machine, a piece of cake and three custard creams for £15. Such a shame.

Lovely. Clean and friendly, food is nicely prepared but nothing dazzling. Standard cafe style, sandwiches-soup-a roast dinner choice, few cakes and buns but in fairness it was midweek when I went so don't know if the choice is different at weekends. The atmosphere was OK but not many people about anyway. Tables were cleared and cleaned as soon as they were vacated.

Pie of the day was steak and vegetable. Tasty enough but with a watery gravy. Accompanying vegetables were dire. Roast potatoes you could barely chew, plain cabbage, and a dish consisting of undercooked cauliflower with overcooked broccoli in cheese sauce. This is poor quality fare for a hefty price in comparison with other carvery style establishments that regularly replace vegetables before they have gone stale.

Pleasant enough space now its been slightly updated. Unfortunately the latte still like warm milk, no flavour at all. Had hoped this would have improved after new ownership, not a patch on Hatties at Tong.

the food wasn’t worth the price, I got the Junior Fish and Chips. My food had hair in, the chips were cold and the fish felt like it was microwaved. The only reason part that saved it was the kind service and positive atmosphere, Overall i wouldn’t recommend eating here, The food is too expensive for what you get

Food was, under cooked potatoes and carrots hard, please looked washed out. Stake and Ale pie good very tasty spoiled by veg. Wife's order was forgotten. No apology given.customer service needs attention. Very uninterested attitude of counter staff.

Twice I've been now and twice I've been disappointed. Food is very blandand dry. A lot of staff but all not doing much. Apart from one woman who seemed to be doing all the work. Won't be bothering again.

We visited today at 11.45am and had meat pie, chips and peas and jacket potato with salad. The food would be absolutely reasonable for 60% of the price. £23 + for what we had was definitely overpriced, never mind the overheads etc.The food was distinctly average: the pie crust was somewhat burned and generally the taste was unexceptional. The jacket potato was small and the cheese served in a dish was of the bought already grated" type: come on
