Trans Pennine Trail

Lovely walking trail along the banks of the Chesterfield Canal and River Rother, ultimately following the route of the river up towards Sheffield and onward past Penistone to join the main Trans Pennine Trail around its centre point.Nice place to walk, away from the roads and provides a much better route from the town to stadium than the footpath along the side of the bypass. Can flood in heavy weather though.

This route which is situated close by the main Train Station follows a river to which leeds onto the Chesterfield Canal. A long trial used by walkers and bikers alike. The trial has a variety of wildlife and also has a variety of wild flowers.
