Seawake

I looked at a few different companies to get out on the water around Puffin Island, and decided that taking the rib boat would be more fun than a larger, covered boat. Our captain, after giving the necessary safety brief, was happy to tell us that the boat had two V-8 engines and 500HP, and we soon saw that he had no reservations about demonstrating it’s capabilities. Whether it is rain or shine, plan on getting wet! If you are looking for a leisurely cruise on the sun deck, this is not it. But if you feel the need for speed and want to get close to Puffin Island, these are your guys.

My daughter and I had a great trip today to Puffin Island. Captain Jason was very informative and funny. The trip was a mixture of white knuckle and gentle cruising. Shout out to Harry too for some excellent driving. Highly recommended.

Absolutely great experience with my young family (2 adults and a 5 and 2 year old). Water wasn't the calmest but well worth it for a look round puffin island. The skipper was great with a lot of knowledge of the area and very competent at getting us around safely with the odd doughnut for good measure! Highly recommend!

This review is for the Powerboat II course at Conwy .The course was delivered by the very capable and knowledgeable Ian (Thomas) who is a very experienced and able boatman of several disciplines .He explained all the course content in a professional and easy to understand manner and was a font of local knowledge on the Conwy bay and beyond .The practical hands on content was given in a smart , modern RIB and he walked us through pre voyage checks and the safety equipment / comms and we were shown how to cast off , maneuver the rib in tight spaces, take account of the winds and tides when mooring , and how to correctly and safely retrieve a man over board as well as a 3 mile open sea journey to the fairway buoy in Conwy Bay .Would highly recommend Ian and highly recommend this course to anyone who wants a safe introduction to power boating .

a thrilling trip with a great tour guide who definitely knew his stuff about Anglesey, in particular Beaumaris and the Menai. Thank you to Jason and team for a great, well run afternoon. Well worth every penny, will definitely book with you to do the Puffin Island trip next time :)

Highlight of our week in Anglesey. Did the 1hr Puffin Island Trip.It was absolutely brilliant. Our 6 year old daughter has been speaking about it ever since. She was especially impressed by Rob's doughnuts!!We got to see Dolphins up close as well as the last of the Puffins before they left for the summer. All the staff were great, especially the guys at the ticket booth and the young lad who does the life jackets. We will definitely be going on another Rib trip with Seawake.

Did my Powerboat 2 with Seawake and Geoff and couldn't have asked for a better instructor or experience. Everything was explained in amazing detail, was able to ask loads of questions and really master the manoeuvres I need for all sorts of sea conditions. You really can't get better than the menai strait for your PB2 as the landscape, the sea and the wind are all so unique giving you chance to become confident in everything. I did the course in quite rough conditions which felt daunting but the team were very reassuring the whole way to the end. Big thanks to Geoff who was patient, but also very experienced and supportive. Would recommend Seawake to everyone but remember to bring warm and waterproof kit, it is wet out there!
