It is a good job

The size of our job was modest, but 50 Degrees rose to the challenge, and we are delighted with the result. They also referred us to a garden designer and a window manufacturer, both of whom were first class. 5 Stars only just avoided owing to some delays when a staff member left them a man down and a few delays ensued. But that's life - so thank you 50 Degrees. Great name for the practice btw.

It was a pleasure working with 50° North Architects on our ground floor extension and loft conversion in South West London. We wanted to transform our home, using every inch of space, bringing as much light into the building as possible. 50° North worked up a number of solutions which we loved before we settled on the final design. They carefully guided us through all aspects of the planning process, advising us on using various planning application types to ensure we received the desired result. Gaining the planning permission we wanted meant we had the space that allowed us to grow in the house. When we needed guidance on our budget and where to find good tradespeople 50° North really helped us with that. They recommended a fantastic build team who worked very closely with them, bringing the plans to life. 50° North were very hands on, liaising with the build team and working through any design issues as they arose to ensure we always found the best solution. I would have no hesitation in recommending 50° North Architects and we would love to work with them again in the future. They bought to the table a wealth of knowledge from the start to the end of the project and made our house a home we absolutely love.

We worked with 50° North Architects on our extension/home refurb project in St Margarets. Our brief was to create a side return at the back of our house, and ensure the rest of the space has a natural flow and is efficient – especially for busy family life. 50° North developed several design options before we settled on our chosen approach, then helped us navigate the process of planning permission, party wall and building control – which all felt seamless. They helped recommend a long list of builders, glazing companies, etc. and were always on hand to answer any questions we had throughout the process. The finished result is better than we ever expected – the small details make the difference, and we’re seeing our house from new angles, in new light, every day. We’re delighted with the result and have already recommended 50° North to local friends.

50 Degrees developed a design to maximise the value of my site and develop a new urban space;They developed a strategy for the use of the site and how it interacted with adjacent spaces arriving at a feasibility plan before working with a difficult planning authority to get pre-application advice;Liaison with sub-consultants to inform the design, get key advise and a strategy in place;Site and design problems, as they arose were handled as a team to find a solution .The last key thing is the network of builders, suppliers and consultants used to help develop the design, specify the exterior and interior and finalise the paperwork.Overall very helpful , easily contactable and approachable .Team work is key !

We appointed 50° North Architects to work on our extension and refurbishment. Our aim was to replace an old conservatory with a proper extension and change other rooms in our 1940's bungalow. Gavin Neal, our architect at 50°, was extremely helpful and talented, and he gave us a lot of his time and creative ideas. His expertise and imaginative suggestions transformed our original concept into a building which is a real pleasure to live in with some very uplifting aspects. As well as this he, and the team at 50°, were an invaluable help with guidance on the paperwork. They gave us full help and support with the other technicalities: planning permission, structural engineers, building inspectors and 3rd party wall documentation. They carried out the legislative submissions and managed the interactions with the local authority planning department. 50° also provided guidance on our budget and interior design as well as where to find a really good builder. We could not recommend 50° more highly in general, and Gavin Neal in particular.
